Dead Space (360, PS3, PC)

I just watched "Dead Space: Downfall" last night. Pretty f'ed up movie, but does explain a lot of the mystery surrounding the events in the game.

Finally beat this game last night. Fantastic game all around. That last boss was crazy.

Yeah tell me about it. How hard was it to aim correctly while it had you up in the air about to eat you?

Here's to hoping they make a sequel.

F'ed up in a good way? Or is the movie just plain bad?

I just completed the game. Does anyone else not think the Hive Mind was the easiest boss?

No spoilers if you discuss the bosses, please! I want to soak up as much Dead Space info as possible, without ruining anything.

Damn this game is good. I'm on Chapter 8 now. Trying to buy the fourth suit.

So I played the demo but I have mixed feelings about what I played. Do the creatures just bum rush you the whole game in swarms throughout the whole game? I just don't find the bum rushing that scary. So does it get better than that?

The demo sucked. They should have used one of the amazing scripted scary parts or a zero G part. The game is amazing. I rented it and got about 4 hours in. The game is easily the best horror game ever made. Seriously. I finally bought it the other day brand new, for 30 dollars. :D

If you really want a taste of it before you buy you should rent it.

Dead Space is one of the best games I've played all year. A full experience.

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah, I probably should have got it for $30 yesterday, but I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually. Is it a really hard game and does it have different difficulties?

I did a lot of reading up on it as I think the concept of the game is great. But that demo just didn't suck me in.

I haven't played the demo, what part of the game was it?

It has plenty of difficulty settings.

Actually it contradicts the game a couple of times. The animated comic prequel was far superior to Downfall.

I really have not idea. I was going through a narrow hall in the ship, and came to a room with three doors where only one was unlocked. Tons of enemies came at me, I took them down, and then a door opened in the big room I was in.

I went in the room and a huge monster ate me. Story of my life. But it was in a cut scene and I think it was supposed to happen that way. And maybe he just grabbed me and in the full game you can escape. I don't know.

Was it a tentacle that grabs your leg and drags you down a hallway? If so that's not a cut scene, you're supposed to shoot it.

I'll have to go back and do the demo again, as I don't really remember being dragged down a hallway. It was more a creature in a closet type of feel. But I only did the demo once.

I just watched a video of the demo on youtube. I don't really remember any of that from the game, I think it was all done special for the demo, the end cinema especially.

Disagree. Voice acting in the comic was beyond terrible. I thought the movie was easily the best game to movie yet...

not saying much though.

The end cinema was, otherwise you'd be dead the rest of the game. You don't remember the part you have to fire up the engines? It was about 2 hours in.

The earlier part of that game is kind of a blur to me now. They should have just made the demo the beginning up to just after you get the gun for the first time.

Agreed. Introducing people to the story is what would grab them.

Holy. I've never screamed so much playing a game in my life :( Horrifying.
