don't get me wrong morph i think this is very nicely done, and it's obviously very popular, but i'm not sure about the mix of imagery... what exactly are you trying to say? or is it just a random juxtaposition to make it "christmassy"? like i said, sorry to be cynical, it's technically superb.

i THINK its kinda the juxtaposition thing you were saying... like how people often just throw a Santa hat on a character.

if there a statement being made, i sure as he|| don't see it.

as for whether it's offensive, my x-mas cards last year depicted Jesus and Santa arm wrestling... this year Santa's drunk and shirtless.

I'm not exactly the arbiter of of good taste when it comes to this subject.

One thing that's undeniable though... If you're gonna put a transformer next to Jesus, it's gonna piss someone off.

Just as some superhero-related sites have depicted Batman receiving the keys to the Batmobile from Santa or Superman paying some form of respect before a nativity, I have done the same.

I am a huge fan of Optimus Prime as he is a fictional character worthy of admiration. But I am, first and foremost, a Christian Catholic who realizes that the underlying reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ, the King of Kings.

The fictional world, as it is in my mind, may pay Him this obeisance as well.

Interpret it as you will, but here is what I hope people take out of it:

- The idea that, in the world of Transformers, even Optimus Prime would take a moment out of respect to at least ponder the peculiar notion of a God taking the form of a defenseless human child... and respecting this belief.

- The confirmation amongst believers that even our beloved heroes of fiction are no greater than our real-world belief in a savior.

It is also ambiguous as to if this is actually the Christ child or just some figure in an unseen nativity.

The imagery is supposed to speak for itself.

Hmm... I haven't entered in a while. I don't really have anything to submit this time and I doubt I'd have time to draw something up with the holidays around the corner, especially since I've started up my own Webcomic. Maybe I'll enter next month.
