Life is simply like a game...

you are destined to get taken through it in some path, but how you get to that path and how long you take to get there is completely one's own choice.

like how much i try to fight it, sooner or later today, i will go to sleep and that's destined.

Basically, the physical laws of the universe determine your fate. You can, however, escape your deterministic fate: The truth will set you free; Jesus is the truth, the light and the way.

Honestly? I tend to think that it's a bit of both. God, or the Universe, or whatever you want to call it may have certain things planned for us. Certain events or oportunities that come our way, but how we react to them is still our choice. So, while, sometimes, what happens to us is "destiny," our choices and reactions in regards to that thing are still ours. In short, I see a difference between destiny and pre-destination.

I think it's a bit of both.

You're destined to be born with certain genetic traits at a certain time in a certain part of the world. (For example you can bet Stephen Hawking did not choose to be born stuck in a wheel chair, nor did his parents make that choice for him). However, how you handle the gifts/curses you are born with is entirely up to you.
