Anyone seen this show yet? I watched the first three eps this morning on "Showtime On-Demand" and I liked it. :yay:

I saw the first episode on the Showtime website and I must say, although it's incredibly disturbing, it's still pretty damn good.

Yeah pretty good. Don't think it will get enough of an audience though for it to last.

I dig this series big time. This cat's part Gus Grissom, part Hannibal Lecter, and he's got a rival serial killer playing Moriarty to his Sherlock "Hack-em-up" Holmes. This s***'s genius, man.

When I clicked this thread I was really hoping that this was some new series of Dexter's Lab, but NOOOOoooooooooo...

I read that it is the highest rated show on showtime in the past 3 years so it should be around for awhile. You can watch the episodes on Showtime's site now too. I agree that it is friggin genius man.

Well I'm glad I was wrong, I hope it does stay for a while. Lots of interesting twists and turns this show could take. I haven't been much for TV series, but this looks pretty awesome.

if not what IS IT? i don't have showtime:ninja:

This is my fansite for the show. Dexter's Little Hobby

Dexter is a Serial Killer who works in forensics for the Miami PD and his hobby is killing Serial Killers and Multiple Murders that escape the courts.

Man, I had an idea for the same type of show too. I should really start acting on my ideas. :( I wish I could watch it, but I don't have Showtime.

There is a link at the top of my site to the page on the Showtime site where you can watch the first two epiosdes.

isn't this show based on a book?
Yeah. The series is taken from the book "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". Part of the amusement comes from the fact that Dexter lets us in on his inner monologue. He refers to himself as a monster and shows flashbacks to his childhood. Not about whatever trauma made him a monster - but how he was taught to deal with his homicidal urges.

Dexter is a better Batman than we've seen anywhere else before.

You know I was thinking that as soon as I saw the first episode. Except he kills people.

I lvoe this show. It is so awesome. Dexter's dad freaks me out more than Dexter does though. Hes so calm about Dex's condition. Plus the girlfriend freaks me out too and she or her husband could easily be the other killer. They fit the profile.

The girlfriend:

-history of violence, abusive relationship

-knows where to find Dexter

-has been recently opening up as if she has finally relieved stress

The ex-husband is just an obvious dirtbag convict unless he took the rap for something she did before.

This theory is pretty much half-baked and just made to stir up thoughts. Kinda interesting though./

Is Dexter's dad dead? I missed a few episodes. If he isn't, couldn't it be him? He would be the person who best fits whats going on.

I keep forgetting to watch this. Saw the 1st episode and thought it was pretty good. But I forgot about it. I hope they show replays or is it available on showtime's website?

Yeah something else that I noticed that hit a little too close to be a coincidence was during either the end of an episode or a preview and he was like "Who am I? I'm Dexter." Kinda reminds me of Daredevil a little too, except he isn't blind. And no superpowers of course, but still same general concept. Guy works in law, helps bring down criminals, the ones who get away or don't get caught, he brandishes his own justice upon.

Yeah, Harry is dead. So is his mother.
And I love the opening credits - the everyday things that appear to be repulsive and violent upon closer examination. Brilliant.
And that quirky, almost comical music. Genius.
Dexter, Heroes, and Battlestar Galactica - a renaissance of televion.
Thank God they don't all air at the same time.

I'm thinking that it could be his sister but I doubt it. To easy.

Just watched the last episode, this show is flipping awesome. Didn't know they had the other eps on 'On-Demand'; quess I know what I'll be doing the next three hours.

The last episode on Sunday was awesome, this series just keep getting better.
