"Dexter" on Showtime

Maybe its different in the books but Why would rudy kill his dad? It was quite clear that rudy killed dexters dad in an episode. Maybe Dex's dad was the chainsaw guy?

In the books there is no mention of his dad other than in the first book he said his father may have been killed as well, or at least involved somehow. But there is no part where Rudy kills Dexter's dad in the books. In the books Rudy isn't going out with Deb, the only time he actually meets and talks with Dexter is at the end.

And as far as his mother looking like a drug addict in the picture and then looking fine in the flashback, that didn't make much sense to me either. Maybe it was one of her better days.

maybe she decided to clean up her act(which is when dexter has the flash back she was cleaned up) and for that reason she was killed because she owed a drug lord something, something along those lines...it will probably be explained in season 2 more, they added so much to the first season that was diff from the book, so this could def be a side story to take up on of the 12 episodes. If you rememeber correctly season 1 only had like 7-8 episodes (if that many) strictly about the icetruck killer and the book storyline. so season 2 needs filling up with other side stories..

lets hot the cody/dexter story is there as well, that would be a great side story. shows dexter humanity, harry type features, but also dark and creepy that he continues 'harry code'

Yeah for me, even though its just basically introduced in the second book, is one of the coolest/most distrurbing parts of the Dexter series. I think its partly that he wants to help Cody, but also wants to help himself, he doesn't want to be alone now that his brother is on the run and has kinda destroyed any hope of them "working together" with their different motivations and whatnot. That could also work in the TV series because his brother is dead, the only one who could understand he killed. Thats why they should put the Cody side story in. It would work perfectly.

chosen 1, im not gonna put any spoiler tags on this cause its pretty miniscule, esp in the book. But Cody and Dexter go fishing, Cody catches a fish, and just stabs it a couple times with a knife and kinda smiles. "Dexter, I like fishing."

I think Brian/Rudy and Dexter are half brothers. Brian Moser/Rudy Cooper. Dexter Dirscoll/Moser. Brian's last name would be Driscoll if he was Joe's son. I don't think he killed his own biological father.

yea they might be half brothers. im sure so much will be explained in the first few episodes of season 2. Hopefully Laguerta gets chopped up by someone, i cant stand her.

what kind of changes do yall think dexter will have in season 2? considering the books are significantly different, im expecting him to become more human, but also become more crazy, becoming more of a schizophrenic, but in an aware type of way if that makes sense...I also think Rita wont even bring up the 'lost shoe' to dexter because its what she wanted deep down...she also has a 'dark passenger' i think. Deborah is probably going to be traumatized to an extent for a good portion of the season, its only natural she should be, i mean having sex with a crazy SOB like brian would do that to anyone. i hope she figures out dexters secret and has flashbacks that hinted to it all along and she just didnt notice...causing a huge internal conflict with her on whether to accept a 'hero' or convict a murderer.

or Deb and Rita will realize Dexter isnt so great and become lesbians with eachother and complete my fantasy bc damn they are hot.:wow:

Just a note

Vote Erz for the Hype Presidential election...you're support would be appreciated :D

I think Deb might already know, just they didn't give it away in the last episode. Like in the scence where Dexter and Deb are in the ambulance, she looked like she was waiting for him to say something, to finally actually talk to her, but he didn't. I think thats why she kinda broke down in the scene. Thats just the feeling I got from it.

thats a good point. i never thought of the ambulance scene like that, but now it makes sense. its like she knew something and was expecting an explanation. Also in the scene where she was strapped to a table, where Dexter stops Brian from killing her, i wonder if she heard any dialogue before, yes she was 'alseep' but she could also have been in a stage where she was half asleep if that makes sense... Id love it if she brought up "what does it mean dex, you cant be a hero and a killer?" in season 2.

My guess is season 2 they would touch upon Cody having serial killer tendencies, and also having Doakes getting closer to learning the truth. In the book, the Angel-no-relation thing, what is that about? And if Deb and Rita became lovers I would love the show even more. Is that new officer that took over LaGuerta's job going to be a regular? I want the Captain to get fired or something, maybe he kills LaGuerta, and sets up someone else, but Dexter knows the truth.

In Dearly Devoted Dexter the Angel no relation thing is explained...i cant quite remember because im near the end and thats near the beginning, but he refers to another 'Batista'.

Its probably the wrestler. But all I heard was Angel, not sure if he said Batista yet. I have the first book. Not the 2nd

second page of chapter 3.... "Hi I'm Angel Batista, no-relation"

Its gotta be the wrestler, don't know any other Batista out there. Its funny how Dex mentions Angel-no relation, but the relation part would be Batista, so it doesn't make any sense in that aspect.

Heres proof Dexter and Brian had the same mom and dad...

from showtimes Dexter website..

Brian/Rudy’s known victims: Killed, dismembered, beheaded, and exsanguinated several prostitutes, including Sheri Taylor and Monique, the one-handed hooker. Killed his and Dexter’s father, Joe Driscoll. Killed Driscoll's elderly neighbor, Irma Holt. Maimed Tony Tucci.

if anyones wondering about Irma Holt, he did return to her house as the cable guy and killed her...all it showed was him returning to her house.

Go to the Dexter website and look at his victim files, its pretty interesting and detailed.

Someone on a Dexter group on Myspace mentioned that Joe was the one who had a drug addiction, and that it was Laura who paid the price. I guess in that episode it was also mentioned that Joe was clean for 30 years. The guy also said that Joe had to change his name so Dexter couldn't find him. So, Dexter's real last name is Moser and not Driscoll. This is confusing. I don't see why Brian would blame Joe for his mothers death. Yet the house was only left 2 Dexter, and Brian. Is he mad because he didn't get part of the house?

he doesnt blame joe for anything...the reason brian killed him was to get dexter to find out his real father was alive all these years and show harry was a liar. everyone ask why would brian kill his father, well he is a "killer without reason or regret" and didnt even know joe anyway being in a psychiatric hospital till his was 21. this was in hopes of bringing more memories to dexter, which it did, and also showed dexter that harry hid stuff..

Yeah, basically Brian did those things to convice Dexter to ditch the "Harry Code" and become free like him, his only real family, not the lies he had lived with before from Harry.

But still, Joe was family. Though Dex only had a memory of himself and his dad, so maybe Joe favored Dexter over Brian. I know he kills without reason, but his own dad?

dude dexter didnt even know his dad really. he was 3. brian went to the nut house when he was 6(4 in the book). he has no emotions what so ever. he killed his dad to get dexter to find out harrys lies.

Yeah, Dexter was Brians only family, because Dexter was like him and his little brother. Like Hobs said Joe was only a Pawn.

Man Michael C Hall deserves that frackin Emmy. But from the looks of it stupid mcdreamy might win. :cmad:
