Dexter would win by a mile. He took down several big serial killers himself (Trinity being possibly a even bigger, scarier and more successful serial killer than Hannibal, & went decades without being detected or even thought of as real) and preyed on mostly violent criminals. Gives him the advantage and experience over Hannibal who preys on unsuspecting victims. Ol' Dex would case Hannibal for awhile, approach him as a fan of his work requesting to be his apprentice, then take him out after he had earned his trust.

I don't see Hannibal letting him get anywhere near close enough for that to happen, plus, Hannibal is a modern day reneissance man who has defied several law enforcement organizations over the span of three continents and several decades. Dexter trying to scope him out and attack him would be no different than anything else that he's come up against.

Everyone's forgetting that when these two meet, they won't immediately know the other one's a serial killer. Hannibal would figure it out first, so by the time Dexter figures it out (for him, it is a much more painstaking process) Hannibal will be 5 steps ahead of him, which is 4 more than he needs.

Dexter has had far more training hiding what he is. A academy intern was able to figure out what Hannibal is.

Well Hannibal has lots of tricks he uses constantly to mess with people for fun and he's a good fighter as seen when he got attacked by that musician. He's had training to recognize personality disorders and is very good at hiding his own from others who specify in identifying disorders like his. I say he tries to psychoanalyze Dexter for kicks, tries to turn him into his new Will Graham then turns him in to the cops when he gets bored.

Hannibal cakewalks this fight. If Dexter even reaches the point where he believes he has discovered Hannibal and is making plans to kill them, it is because Hannibal has allowed it and has already sorted out the additional ingredients for his next big meal.
