Season 1 was amazing...great story, stays somewhat faithful to the book, and adds many side stories making the show even better.

In season 2, i expect the same format. Im expecting a few things..
1. Rita confronting Dexter about the 'missing shoe'.
2. Dexter finding out Pauls NA sponsor planted it there, and isn't who he seems to be. Slices him up.
3. Doakes hating/following Dexter til about half way through the season, and finds out the people Dexter kills, and learns the entire story from Dexter, and finds a connection with eachother.
4. Dexter begins Cody's training  .
5. I think the 'main killer' will not be Dr. Danco, but Danco will be a killer in the show and be caught and cut up by Dexter, or even better, Doakes...
6. The main killer kills his victims with a chainsaw........Dexters mothers murder perhaps?? that would be interesting.
7.Deeply Disturbed Debrorah knows all about Dexter, from Brian(flashbacks of him telling her while he her captive). Or just her over hearing the "you cant be a killer and a hero, it does not work that way!".
8. Deb accepts Dexter and begins to understand him, showing a new side of Dex, showing emotion like he did when he killed Brian...

I feel this next season is going to be more about Dexters emotions and growth from his experience with Brian, rather then being focused on the killer.

Season 2 begins September 30th, 2007. According to my brother who is a Executive at Comcast. Not sure how he knows that, I honestly think it will start October 7, 2007 simply because of it being October and just getting started for Halloween. Either way season 2 will get the best ratings in showtimes history I'm sure, considering it was their highest rated show in the past like 8 years was it?

I doubt it will show any of Dr. Danco's victims as well, if you've read Dearly Devoted Dexter, you know why.

speaking of which...
could you even imagine looking into one of those mirrors of his after Danco had his fun with you? makes me veryyyyy uncomfortable.

Can't wait for the Second Season, the first was one of the best new shows in a long time. Also, I think you should put your 2nd season list in spoiler tags, some of that gives away things in the second book.

damn this show must suck ass.

What do you expect the 2nd season doesn't start for months.

any news on season one DVD?

comes out in august...

just heard some info on season 2.

apparently Dr. Danco is Dexter's main focus for about 4-5 episodes, and the last 7 or so is based on Dexter chasing someone that killed Dr. Danco....

My thoughts: Doakes, or Debra killed danco. Debra is damaged from her experience, maybe she is like Dex. would be a great twist finale.

Im sure the season premiere will be awesome, assuming its a few months after the Ice Truck Killer, maybe some issues will already be dealt with and explained early.

I am so buying that DVD set the day it's out. I can't wait for the next season. When is S2 supposed to happen? January?

late sept/early oct, i think. read oct 7th somewhere, im pretty sure.

September 30th is the season 2 premiere. Anyone catch the Season 2 teaser preview on showtime the other day? its on the website... sho.com

"While sitting in on Dexter panel here at press tour, I made a spoilerific discovery: The press kit Showtime handed out contains a detailed overview of Dexter's second season -- a very detailed overview. Some of it is stuff I've already teased in Ask Ausiello, but most of it is fresh scoop. The entire opus is below. Read at your own risk."

"Thirty-eight days after killing his only brother, the infamous Ice Truck Killer, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) still has problems. Sgt. Doakes (Erik King) remains convinced that Dexter has something sinister to hide. His sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) has moved into his apartment, unable to get over the pain of nearly being murdered by her fiancé Rudy, the Ice Truck Killer. And his girlfriend Rita (Julie Benz) suspects Dexter of framing her ex-husband Paul and sending him to jail.

As a result, Dexter hasn't been able to do what he does best – keep Miami clean by taking outs its cold-blooded killers. Eager to get back in the serial-killing saddle, Dexter manages to elude Sgt. Doakes, but even then, Dexter finds that killing these days isn't easy.

Dexter's difficulties multiply when evidence of his murderous activities surfaces in Miami. Soon, the city has a new serial killer to focus on, one far more prolific than the Ice Truck Killer. Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine), an FBI agent famous for catching serial killers, flies in from Washington to head up the search for Dexter. Lundy forms a task force, which includes Batista (David Zayas), Masuka (C.S. Lee) and Debra, whose sole purpose is to uncover the identity of the newly dubbed "Bay Harbor Butcher."

After losing her leadership of the homicide division, Lt. Laguerta (Lauren Velez) has to readjust to life as a field detective in the bullpen, but she has long-range plans to regain her leadership and get her office back. She begins to buy into Doakes' suspicion of Dexter and becomes concerned for Doakes and his obsessive nature. Laguerta will have to make some hard decisions regarding Doakes' fitness as a detective that will severely test their friendship.

Rita, meanwhile, mistakes Dexter's suspicious behavior for drug addiction and pushes him into a recover program, where he meets a mysterious woman with a dark past named Lila (Jaime Murray). If Rita is the perfect woman, Lila just might be the perfect woman for Dexter. As the two of them bond over their inner demons, Dexter's tortured history comes back to haunt him. Details of Harry Morgan's (James Remar) life comes more into focus for Dexter and he realizes his iconic image of his foster father and "Harry's Code" are more complex than he once thought.

Dexter can't pause for a breath as the noose tightens. Will he be able to continue his serial-killing ways, while keeping tabs on Lundy and the task force? Or will Doakes finally uncover Dexter's dark past?"

sounds like its going to be a bad ass season.

So um, let's just say that the first two episodes AREN'T up on all the major torrent sites.

which ones? i looked for them and couldnt find either episode

So Dr. Danco is going to be in the 2nd season. I'm glad, I heard that he wasn't. I can understand them deviating from the second book as well like they did with the first one. Basically the two main things I want in the 2nd season is Dr. Danco and his victims ( I hope they don't ***** out on that, make it like it is in the book its freaking Showtime, thats why this series even exists) and something about Cody resembling Dexter.

I also think the third book is coming out around the same time, either August or September.

Oh and I almost forgot. PLEASE, please something more in depth about the Dark Messenger. Its such a big focus in the books and the only time I think we even hear him say anything about it is in the last episode. I mean, thats basically what is driving him to kill. I also would have liked it if they had gone with the dialogue from the book as well tying it into the Dark Messenger.
Things like when he catches the killer he will say
'You're OURS now" instead of "You're mine now." It would work so much better, but I don't think they will change that.

Well sh**!! Hall didn't get a Emmy nomination this year.:cmad: :cmad:

Emmy voters snub serial killer, teen athletes

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - While mob boss Tony Soprano was embraced once again by Emmy voters on Thursday, they apparently drew the line at serial killers.

Michael C. Hall is a critics' favorite for his title role on the Showtime network drama "Dexter," playing a charming forensics investigator who murders criminals by night. But he was one of several noteworthy Emmy prospects who failed to clinch a nomination.

Hall earned a nod in 2002 for his portrayal of the prodigal son who returns to run his family's funeral business on HBO's now-departed hit "Six Feet Under."

Many critics thought he was equally deserving of a mention for his chillingly nuanced role as Dexter Morgan.

Another glaring omission from this year's race, for some Emmy watchers, was the NBC football drama "Friday Night Lights." The freshman show, nearly canceled due to low ratings, was a leading critics' choice for best drama but failed to make the cut except in two minor categories.

Some popular past Emmy winners also failed to secure a spot in the leading categories this year.

Last year's big victor, the Fox espionage thriller "24," was shut out of the top drama contest, as was the 2005 champion, ABC's hit castaway thriller "Lost," which got snubbed for a second year in a row.

The lack of Emmy love for "Lost" was especially surprising in light of revised voting rules designed to address flaws blamed for the show being overlooked last year, said show-business awards pundit Tom O'Neil, host of the Los Angeles Times' Web site www.TheEnvelope.com.

Meanwhile, Fox's smash hit "American Idol" earned seven more nominations on Thursday, including a fifth bid for best reality competition program. It remains to be seen whether it will lose again to CBS rival "The Amazing Race."

O'Neil says "Idol,' whose Emmy tally now stands at zero wins for 22 total nominations, is just three losses away from tying the record held by Bob Newhart's second sitcom, "Newhart," as biggest series loser in Emmy history -- zero wins for 25 nominations.

Still, Hall's failure to land a nomination for "Dexter" was "the single biggest disappointment on the acting side" for many critics, he said.

Not that the voters of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences are unwilling to recognize the work of actors who play morally corrupt or emotionally damaged characters.

James Gandolfini has three best-actor Emmys, and was nominated again this year, for his role as conflicted New Jersey mob boss Tony Soprano.

And all four of his latest rivals for best actor in a drama play checkered roles. James Spader stars as an ethically challenged lawyer on "Boston Legal," Hugh Laurie as a pill-popping, grouchy doctor on "House," Denis Leary as firefighter battling all manner of personal demons in "Rescue Me" and Kiefer Sutherland (last year's winner) as a secret agent who tortures people on "24."
