Bishop has a robotic arm, now?

I haven't heard anyone call Bishop "the black Cable" in years, but sure Marvel, let's reawaken that old analogy. :whatever:

Yeah, I don't see where Bishop's been shown with a robot arm either.
It's not 100% confirmed yet, but the fact that Predator X chomped off Bishop's arm, plus this:
Marvel.com said:
CABLE #2
COVER BY: ARIEL OLIVETTI
WRITER: DUANE SWIERCZYNSKI
PENCILS: ARIEL OLIVETTI
COLORED BY: ARIEL OLIVETTI
THE STORY:
A new ongoing series spinning out of the decade’s biggest X-Men event! The future of mutantkind continues here!
There’s only one thing worse than a heavily-armed man with murder on the brain. And that’s several heavily-armed men, none of whom give a damn about Cable’s mission to save mutantkind from total extinction. Meanwhile, Cable’s newest enemy—Lucas Bishop—crawls back from bloody oblivion and tracks down his quarry the hard way: one brutal time jump after another. When Bishop finally catches up wit Cable, he’s not going to be in the mood for small talk. It’ll be kill first, ask questions later.
Rated T+ …$2.99

all seem to indicate that Bishop will replace his missing arm with a robotic one and chase Cable across time.

Ah, I didn't see that cover to #2. I wonder why his robot arm is longer than his non-robot arm.

On a side note, does Olivetti's art look a lot stiffer than it did in PWJ? I think he's relying more heavily on computers and while it may increase his speed, it's not helping the quality.

I think he's bending his normal arm. Or, I guess, maybe he scavenged the robot arm from someone bigger than him. That'd be kind of funny. :)

Olivetti's art looks pretty much the same to me as it did on PWJ.

That cover looks pretty textured to me. Bishop's arm is even rusting.

I don't' know, I kinda dig it. They kinda got a Mirror image thing going on.

It doesn't help the perception that Bishop is a "black Cable," but since I never got that impression from Bishop to begin with, I like it too. Two one-armed dudes time-hopping throughout the ages over one baby. It sounds like either a fun comic or a really awful sitcom.

Wow, yeah, that second page is terrible. Olivetti just totally CG'ed the backgrounds and everything looks like plastic.

That last page actually makes me miss Ladronn. I really liked his art on Cable from a few years back.

Maybe I will pick this up. Gonna have to drop something though.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's doing more and more of his work on computers and it's making the quality suffer. Ladronn was good on Cable, but I like the style he's developed since then more. When he first started on Cable, it seemed like he was aping Kirby a bit too much.

Yeah, I don't know if Ladronn's moved to watercolors or what now, but his post-Cable work on Inhumans and the Planet Hulk covers were really phenomenal. He's gotten a lot better, but I can't help thinking that he's also gotten slower, hence his doing covers only right now.

He paints digitally. He also does a ton of design work these days. It pays better and it's a lot less labor intensive than interior comics work.

And if you like his Planet Hulk stuff and want to see some really beautiful covers, check out his Elephantmen work.
