(I havent seen the movie, but I read the book, which is excellent.)
The director and assc. did publicly disavow the trailers. They said the audience should not expect all the magical stuff throughout most of the film.

That's nice but they never should have released those trailers. They were afraid the film (though good) would flop so they tricked the general public.
Not anymore they aren't.... it completely threw me for a loop.
I would have to say pretty much on the same scale as what happened in The Sixth Sense. I looked over at my daughter and she was crying and im sure i had a bewildered look on my face...
It is definitely the biggest twist ending ive seen in a long time.
I'd say that if you've read the book or know anything about the ending then dont go see it but if you go in knowing nothing you are in for a shocker.
