I recently downloaded this on PSN. It still holds up fairly well. I really wish this franchise could get a fresh start. Anyone else have fond memories of this game?

I really enjoyed the first two games of the series. I actually liked the second game more because I felt the more action paced gameplay and weapon system fit better for fighting against Dinos, as opposed to the more slow paced early Resident Evil-ish gameplay from the first. Though the first was still pretty solid. Don't know what in the world happened with that third game. I mean, I'm all for adding new things to franchises, but that was a horrid goof.

Never did the play the spinoff

I played and really enjoyed the first one. I definintely feel like this series needs a reboot of some sort. Of course I just think there need to be more dinosaurs in games in general. :P

True. I actually liked the first more than the second. I think survival horror is the way to go as opposed to action. I would love to see a reboot or sequel. Give it almost a Jurassic Park feel. You are secluded, in the jungle, on an island. No escape and fighting for survival. Throughout the game give the feel that you are being hunted. You never know when a raptor will leap from behind the bushes and attack you, or when the T-rex may come hurdling over a hill. I think that would be the perfect way to restore Dino Crisis to its once great status.

I owned the first, all I really remember is very early on when you're walking in a hallway and a dino jumps through a window.

I have fond memories of it, even if I don't remember them. I always pause on it when I'm scrolling through the PSN.

Superb game, I had no idea this was for download on PSN, I will have to get it. Dinosaurs+horror=scary.

I would like to see a reboot of this game as well, especially with 5.1 surround sound now. I remember even with just stereo, the game's sound put me on edge all of the time. I just hope they would keep it like the original, action/adventure, not just action like RE4 and 5. Keep the puzzle aspects of it if they did re-make it.

Loved the first two games. I prefer the first one because it was more of the horror game.

The series needs to redeem itself after the third one took a dump on it.

Was the third one even connected to the first two? The more I think on it, I don't even remember if they explained how the dinosaurs got in space.

I don't think they were actual dinosaurs like in the previous two games, they were results of DNA experimentation

I see. God that game sucked. I've tried to block it from memory.

I want a reboot if they start this series up. Maybe make Regina the survivor of a plane crash, stranded on an island filled with dinosaurs and she has to fight to stay alive until rescue can come.

I don't think we need a straight out reboot. I don't really see the need to scrap everything from the first two games, there's still a lot of potential from where the second one left off. Just ignore the third game, which is easy to do timeline-wise, and go from there. Set it similarly to DC2, new guy/girl plus Regina, and explain major points as you progress.

I remember the 2nd one very well, the first not so much. I loved that game as a kid. I remember vaguely that you unlocked different modes after you completed the game. It definately needs a reboot.

I imagine if we did end up getting a new one that it would be a reboot. So much time has passed since the last games I doubt many people remember much of the storyline or characters.

I don't think that would be that big an issue. The main thing you need to know about the storyline is that it involves experimental energy that has to do with time travel, and that's how the dinosaurs get involved with the whole deal, and the game can explain other points as you go.

I don't know, seems a waste to reboot the series when the premise seems like it's barely been scratched

Was there a third game?
I never heard about.

I never played the first one, but I loved the second one and still have it.

Yeah, there was a third game. It was set in the future, in space and had almost no tie to the previous games.
