Invcitus had a wonderful idea for a thread today (though was too lazy to create it himself. ;)) and this is it; a collection of direct references/scenes taken from the comic(s) and put in the movie. Just from the teaser, we can see that there could be lots of these present in the flick and knowing MSJ (he riddled DD with references) he has tonnes of this stuff in there.

So, I'll start off with this and I do suggest people post pics and such when they find new references.

From the movie:

From the comics; varient cover from the latest mini.

Did anyone notice anything else?

I've no way to scan or post the panel, but remember in Issue 1 of the 90's series when GR rides up the side of the building and you're looking down at the cop cars?

:)

I Loved This Idea Over At The Xmen Boards!!! Keep 'em Up!!

I doubt that was an inspiration, but it looks similar.

:ghost:

Yeah, close but that image from the movie was only captured. You wouldn't even really notice it on screen as it was just a flash. Great capture though!

The two Riders are great. These few scenes we have seen almost seem very...artful. It looks like some planning has gone into this movie.

I'd say. It's been in development forever. It'll be soon be three years since I started following the production process heavily and even at that point it was in devopment hell for years.

Seems to be coming together nicely now though...

This is a sweet topic! If not for the comparisons, than for the screen shots.

When I saw this shot:

I immediately thought of this picture.

There was also a comic panel of the Saltares/Texeira era very similar to that(in there the pose was more of a side halt). The issue where Deathwatch blew up a building on GR to kill him...and killed hundred of peoples in the process, so GR became only angrier:D

Yeah, that's a classic pose for ol' flameface. It's awesome to see that he's using it in the movie... though, of course, there's not many other ways to sit when on a bike, stopped, I assume...

I thought this cover. (Originally Ghost Rider #1 (Vol. 2))

Gee, I wonder what language that might be... Damn, there's no smiley with an angelic halo...

Good idea FH and Invitious! I loved how Lightning Strykes did that in the FF movie thread.

Someone else pointed it out in another thread.

That actual shot was from a now deceased Easy Rider mag artist David Mann. If you watch American Choppers they built a bike for the artist, and he passed on before it was finished so they presented it to the artist's wife.
Here's some of his art http://home.att.net/~knucklehead-47/dmann.htm

This is a good one to bump. We'll probably get a few more shots to check out for comic references with the new trailer.

Did anyone happen to notice anything in the new trailer?

There was that scene when Blaze fell at the crossroads, it reminded me of the Crossroads theme of the GR comic by the same name. The scene where Blazes' eyes were all fiery was a scene from the comic as well, but I can't remember which one.

I guess we won't really be able to talk about this until the movie comes out but, I thought it was a good thread to bump anyway. Has anyone noticed anything in the new footage yet?

Well, the movie is out and I figure this would be a good one to bump. Anybody catch anything?

Oh I did!

I'll have to post them later though.
