Anybody know all of the comic book references this movie had? The ones I could think of are how batman interrogates flass by grappling his foot and making him SWEAR TO HIM, that came from the Fears comic by Sale & Loeb! Also, Scarecrow's line of "Crane isn't here right now, but if you'd like to make an appointment" Came from the Madness comic also by Sale & Loeb. What other things were taken straight out of the comics?

The sonar in Batman's boot is a reference to Year One.

Him falling into the hole is also a refrence.

Ducard was a minor character created by Sam Hamm for his "Blind Justice" arc in '89. It wasn't really of any consequence to combine him and Ras.

Ducard has actually appeared a few times since then. The Demon Laughs over in LotDK, which featured a Joker/Ra's team up actually had Batman enlisting Ducard to help him stop them.

We saw Mr. Zsasz (sp?) while Batman was storming through Arkham.

He was also on trial near the beginning, when we're first introduced to Crane. And we see him again, leading the mob that surrounds Rachel and the little kid, right before Batman saves them.

True that. I wouldn't mind seeing him as a minor character again.

That scene reminded me of how much I want a "No Man's Land" movie.

Herm. :csad:

I believe the Scarecrow line "Dr. Crane isn't here right now...but if you'd like to make an appointment..." is from Haunted Knight...

Really obvious one:

BB incorporated this moment into the Arkham escape scene.

The "Genesis of the Bat" and "Journey Begins" featurettes on the BB DVD show a lot of comicbook panel-to-screenshot comparisons.

A lot of it is Year One, Haunted Knight, TLH, The Man Who Falls and the O'Neil/Adams comics from the '70ies... some of it is DKR, though not very much.

The League of Shadows freeing all the Arkham inmates in BB also reminds me of when Bane did the same thing in Knightfall.

Ohh I see were starting this now, sounds like a good idea, didnt we have one of these on here like 3 years ago? lol

And he actually had his kill tally scared into him so it wasn't like they just through the name out there because it was in the comics.

I am surprised no one else has said this.. especially since you were poinint to Sale and Loeb.... the commissioner's name in the movie is Loeb.... don't tell me thats a coincidence

His name is Loeb in Year One.

oh yeah... nevermind
weird coincidence then

but theres another reference to the comics I suppose, through year one... its not like Gordon who they have to name gordon.... they could have named the commissioner anything in the movie

They named him that obviously as a refference to the character...despite him acting NOTHING like Loeb from Year One/Long Halloween/Dark Victory in the movie.

I love how BB had all these comic book references. I hope TDK does the same

They probably thought it'd be too much. The part is pretty small anyway.

Character wise, you have Falcone and Flass.
