Discussion: Global Warming and Other Environmental Issues

That sentence literally makes no sense. In any context.

So...you're insane. By your own reasoning. Awesome.

Ah...the last refuge of those who have been proven wrong. Pick on someones typing.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...I type while traveling in the back of a moving vehicle...I make both typing and grammar mistakes, all the time. My O button barely works, and my laptop is cursed with an oddly moving cursor and momentary freezes that I type through and therefore leave entire words out by accident. It still doesnt make my point wrong.

Let me reword that last sentence for you, since you cant figure it out otherwise...

If you don't believe that the global warming scam and the financial crisis are steps towards global governance then you are an idiot.

So...Carcharodon, since I reworded it...tell me...do you believe that they are steps towards global governance, or are you an idiot?

Oops, I used insane first...but either will work, maybe insane idiots believe that global governance is not linked to global warming and the financial crisis...

I'm sorry...how have I been proven wrong? Last I recall, you've still offered no support for your claim of "millions" of deaths as a result of climate change policies. You have an interesting take on reality.

As for your typo, I just found it hilarious that you called yourself insane. It had nothing to do with making a point or refuting an argument. It was amusing. Sue me. I also find it funny that you're insulting my intelligence after you called yourself insane. It made me LOL just a little bit.

To address your question, I honestly don't know whether they are intentional steps towards global governance, though it would seem that it's heading that way. I don't think that global governance will be a reality, though.

Not when the top scientists in charge are faking all of the research data and then not allowing any outside peer review of their data streams. For something like that to be discovered you would need a computer hacking or insider leak...a "ClimateGate" if you will.
that just sound so probable:whatever:

While Heretic DOES have a tendency to exaggerate, I have to ask: you really don't keep up with current events too much, do you?

I take back my point about millions of people being dead because of food shortages caused by environmental laws. There are no food shortages. No one ever dies of hunger. You are correct.

You know what I LOL about? People who are such losers that they have nothing to do all day but critique grammar on the internet. While I am wasting my time here at the Hype today, I have been simultaneously working and dealing with my personal life. Work alone requires me to concentrate on several different things at once, all of which involving lots of money and detailed attention. As a result, my posts at the Hype sometimes have bad grammar since I ste away, then return and dont bother proof reading.

You...you have no such responsibilities. You are able to make sure that everyone stays on top of their grammar on a super hero message board. You GO you! You sound like a mighty important person, what with your perfect grammar and free time to make sure everyone else stays on top of it as well.

Lastly, the global warming scam and intentional financial crisis are IN FACT steps towards global governance. The Pro-fraud crowd like yourself rarely admit that it is, even though it's a fact and most of you support it.

You implied direct causation, and I never said that no one ever dies of hunger. That's ******ed.

Isn't the number of people who die each day from malnutrition about 40,000? I can't remember. It may have changed.

It's not simply "bad grammar" when your mistakes change the entire meaning of a sentence. If those mistakes are so frequent and you have to ***** every time somebody points it out, you should probably just stop posting. For all of us, babe.

You keep on with this "pro-fraud" crap. I've already told you I'm not "pro-fraud." Do you have a learning disability I need to be aware of? I promise not to make fun of you if you do.

Your defensiveness is hilarious by the way. You're so adorable.

HA!

I'm not being defensive...I'm pointing out how utterly stupid it is to spend your time worrying about grammar on a superhero message board.

But hey...if you have THAT little going on in life...then knock yourself out. I am positive that I will continue to get distracted while typing and may occasionally continue to make mistakes.

And if you aren't pro-fraud then that's cool. Your posts seem to imply a knowledge that the truth has come out, yet an unwillingness to fully admit it and perhaps a bit of frustration towards the fact that it has. I dont really see you going after anyone except the pro-truth crowd. Then again, I'm pro-truth, so I may not notice it.

While simultaneously trying (and failing) to insult me with a long, drawn-out response to something as trivial as a passing comment about the fact that you called yourself insane.

Yeah. That isn't a defensive response.

SNAP! The hits keep coming!

I'm going after the "crowd" that seems to think that:

1) Anthropogenic climate change has been completely debunked (it hasn't, by the way)

and

2) Seem to imply that there is no need for concern (or, more precisely, legislation) over our carbon emissions.

I mean really, you admit that the excessive carbon output is a problem, but persistently use this supposed fraud as a rationalization for crapping all over the idea of regulation. The irony is that if you're correct, we may be in a WORSE position than originally thought.

I'm with Carchar on this one...where have you been????

To be perfectly honest guys, this is the first I'm hearing about "Climategate", though admittedly, I consciously avoid the news.

This video's quite a bit more thorough than the other one I posted, which is no surprise considering the user's track record in this field

**** global warming man. THe effect humans have on it is miniscule. It's just a natural cycle of the planet. It happened before, it will happen again. There is nothing we can do to prevent, so stop wasting our ****ing money you tree huggers!

By that logic we should be doing nothing to minimize damage from floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc.

Get a better argument - preferably one that's grounded in evidence and reason.

You may have your beliefs on whether AGW is legit or not. But I think the real debate is on policy like carbon credits as a means of wealth redistribution. I am violently against this.

Imagine if the Christians took over, and created a Jesus credit, every time you sin, you pay Jesus credits to offset your sins. Oh wait, they did that already :(

I'm not trying to argue. I'm saying I believe global warming is just something that happens.

I mean, what killed off the dinosaurs? I'm sure they didn't have carbon foot prints.

What happened to the miles and miles and miles of land that once joined Africa and America together? (was it Africa and America? I know it was some continents that are now separated by water) All that land is now at the bottom of the ocean. Why? Global warming? Well we weren't around to effect that then was we?

Answer me these questions.

Beliefs are entirely irrelevant.

Unless you have evidence to show this, why mention it?

A meteor is FAR different from a natural cycle on Earth.

:doh::doh::doh:

Plate tectonics - look it up.

You don't have to admit it, it's common sense economics. He probably did not anticipate the recession would last as long as it has.

Carbonhagen: World Leaders Drive to Climate Summit in Gas-Guzzling Luxury Fleet
12/7/09

World leaders and VIPs began pouring into Copenhagen Monday morning for the city's long-awaited climate summit, arriving in style in a fleet of gas-guzzling limos and luxury cars.

Most delegates to the climate change conference haven't exactly been hoofing their way to Denmark's capital, swarming the city's airport with 140 private jets, 1,200 hired limousines and a carbon footprint the size of a small country.

Video shot on the scene Monday shows squads of new arrivals at the green gathering pulling up in BMWs, Mercedes Benzes, sleek Volvos and plush Jaguars. A bus reserved for the delegates rode along empty outside the conference center.

The head of Copenhagen's biggest limo company says her business usually has a dozen cars on the road. But during the conference — which has been billed as the last best chance to save the environment — she'll have 200 vehicles churning out fumes, the Daily Telegraph reported.

"We thought they were not going to have many cars, due to it being a climate convention," Majken Friss Jorgensen told the newspaper. "But it seems that somebody last week looked at the weather report."

France alone has ordered 42 vehicles, she said, and the auto supply in Denmark is very quickly drying up. To make up for shortages, Jorgensen and her competitors are bringing in lines of limos from as far away as Germany and Sweden.

"We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfill the demand," she said, adding that just five cars in her fleet will be environmentally friendly hybrid vehicles, which are almost impossible to procure in tax-heavy Denmark.

Once the estimated 30,000 delegates, activists, protesters and members of the press arrive this week and next, they'll find a sumptuous and steeply priced spread awaiting them.

Expensive hotels are sold out, and the conference organizers have been busy laying 560 miles of computer cable and 50,000 square miles of carpet, according to the Times of London.

The conference center hosting the meetings has set up four "climate kitchens" to cook healthy, organic meals for attendees, but they aren't coming cheap.

Visitors ordering the regular meal will get finger sandwiches, a quiche, some cheese and dessert, but those going "deluxe" get a mini croissant, canape with smoked salmon, mini pizzas, fancy cheese and some pineapple in chocolate — all for an estimated $40 a person.

The whole conference rings up at just under $215 million, according to a report from the U.K.-based Taxpayers' Alliance, which argued that even though delegates to the climate conference don't expect to emerge with any signed commitments, they're still doing potential damage by making their two-week visit.

Conference organizers have gone the whole nine yards seeking to offset the Copenhagen carbon crunch (the U.N. estimates an output of 41,000 tons of gas), using energy-efficient lights, powering the proceedings with a giant wind turbine, and offering visitors recycled materials instead of wasteful plastic water bottles. They've also purchased carbon offsets to help manage the output from their 12-day affair.

But Matthew Sinclair, the research director for the Taxpayers' Alliance, said their presence means that "a huge amount of money is going to be spent on the summit, and thousands of tons of carbon dioxide emitted to get there, just to give the delegates a good photo opportunity."

Is anyone surprised?

Keep believing in it Z. Though there is proof of Doctored Reports, the Global Temperature has be in the decline, Hurricane activity are at an all time low, and the hottest year on record is over 70 years ago.

Hottest year over 70 years ago? That's the worst BS I ever heard in my life.
