Yeah, apathy is the best medicine.Warhammer said:My look on Global Warming...
I can't do anything about it by myself, so oh well.
Anyhow, almost any group or "science" organisation that has "disproved" the theory of Global Warming and Climate change can be located here. The catch is that this list is a near complete compilation of organisations funded by or directly created by...Exxon/Mobil! Yay! Now what possible interest could the planet's largest oil company have in disproving or claiming to have disproven climate change? Also, for those who might be interested, Great Britain's Royal Society (the country's largest and most respected collection of scientists), early last month, sent an open letter to Exxon/Mobil politely requesting that they stop funding bull**** science in the interest of fattening their pockets, setting a precident as the Royal Society has never in history had to approach an independant organisation about the dangers of their lies. The difference now is that Exxon is succeeding at convincing simple minded individuals like this Gamma Ray character that they are in no danger.Plus, the mood is always set for when the womens come over (assuming your power-savers are like mine and slightly dimmed).Halcohol said:I replaced all the light bulbs in my apartment with the energy saving ones and I haven't had to change one in about a year and a half, at least.

Nah, I've never really noticed it. But then again, I AM a creature of the night.Chauncey said:Plus, the mood is always set for when the womens come over (assuming your power-savers are like mine and slightly dimmed).![]()

Reusuing plastic bottles personaly however, rather than just discarding them, does wonders. Also, there are a great number of other reasons why rainforests are being wiped out other than simply paper production. Don't think for an instant that it isn't happening.Spidey-Bat said:Recycling, except aluminum, is a waste. Paper is a renewable resource. They have special farms to grow trees that will be used for paper. They don't go into a random forest and cut down trees for paper. They don't reuse plastic bottles because its cheaper for companies to make new ones than reuse the old ones.
I'm aware that it's a seperate issue, I'm simply pointing out for whoever might be reading this thread that the rainforests are, infact, in danger. Also, the fact that companies are not reusing plastic bottles on account of it's cost is no reason to stop the recycling program, but rather a reason to pressure government to ensure that these companies are putting the planet over their profit.Spidey-Bat said:Companies do not reuse plastic bottles though. Plus recycling creates more pollution from recycle trucks. If people just threw everything out, there'd be less air pollution from trucks.
They do not take trees from rainforests and make them paper. Atleast it is not the main reason. They destroy the rainforests for the land, not to make paper from trees. Putting your newspapers out for recycle isn't going to prevent it from happening. It's a totally seperate issue.
