There are 6 billion people on this planet. You gonna wage war with all of them?

So, you don't walk in my house a trash the place, but I walk on your planet and pollute it? Wow, what a god complex.

it belongs to me and everybody else. we all have the right to use it. but we odn't have the right to ruin it for everybody else. that's the truth. you don't have the right to ruin it for me.

If me and you both pitched in on a business, would I have the right to burn it to the ground even though part of it belongs to me? would that be fair to you?

would it be fair to both of us for both of us to take care of it?

What kind of car do you drive (if you drive at all)?

I'm amazed by HUMAN. And here I thought those kinds of people only existed on TV

Human, you serve no purpose here. Be gone. You have not added one FACT to this conversation. Get lost.

Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.

Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

Agree or disagree?

I don't share personal information about my personal life, but I assure you I do not drive a gas guzzler, and I never will.

and not only that but I am in the process of fixing the details of my energy plan which I plan to get 5000 signatures on a petition saying they support it, and then contact the DNC, and try to make something happen.

i don't even hold somebody driving a gas guzzler responsible. they ar enothing but a victim of our country's current status. a victim of our government. a victim of Bush.

I do blame people for showing support for destroying the earth and for voting for candidates who support it, like Bush.

I don't agree with the 500,000,000 thing, but I agree with the rest. and no I do not believe in god, cause I think those are bible quotes.

Actually they're 2 of the 10 guidelines found on the Georgia Guidestones that have a background in occultism.

I'll leave this "debate," or whatever you want to call it, with two words.

KYOTO PROTOCOL

KYOTO PROTOCOL

It's called Kyoto Treaty. and the standards could have easily been met.

Global warming is getting worse by the day. Scientist have even found grass growing in antartica, a place with sparce vegetation. As far as myself Ive realized that temperature has been rising gradually each year. There are heat waves in plenty of areas across the globe and in florida(where Im at) theres a hurricane warning practically every week

People also seems to forget that global warming is a global effect. Not only will there be terrible floods and hurricanes off the coast, but there will also be an enormous increase in temp, tornadoes, crops will die, disease vectors will flourish, ect.

Now political leaders are trying to close their eyes and pretend this isn't real. They are disclaiming global warming although scientist are still talking about it. What pisses me off is that they dont even do global warming awareness programs or anything. The majority focus on oil and war and arent smart enough to notice that it doesnt matter cause global warming will screw us all up pretty soon if we dont do anything. Thank God for the hybrid cars, hopefully that can help but by the time they are in mass production and practically everyone gets one it might be too late.

:(

politicians don't care about global warming because they're all short sighted, and don't care about what happens beyond their own money grubbing lives.

1) The Wiki can be written by anyone and is often mired by POV.

2) If you're going to believe what's available on an online encyclopedia that praises the fact that anyone can edit it, then you have no qualms about this article:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming_controversy
Most scientist believe in Global Warming and not what you believe.Im pretty sure there is a reason behind that. Plenty of scientist oppose some to calm the public, but that doesnt make global warming a hoax.

There are plenty reason why Global Warming happens...It doesn't only have to be greenhouse gases, scientist only theorizre that global wamring will happen due to the greenhouse effect.
If a science article tells you gloabl warming is fake then I wouldnt read it if I were you, I can understand if think the greenhouse effect is false but global warming.

As you said volcanic eruptions are very harmful to the atmosphere but it produces more harmful polution than the human race in a decade? ...that sounds a bit off, do you have a link?

My analogy to all this is like a cut. Your body repairs a small paper cut, then you make an even bigger cut, til ultimately you have caused terrible destruction to your body. Sure, Earth repairs, but at what priice? Do we have to wait and see Earth repair and have a chance of this happening or should we just take minor actions daily to help around?

Yeah, that was when the main powers of the world decided it was a problem and did something about it. Notice how the US is the only major country who hasn't ratified the Kyoto protocal?

The Kyoto Protocol is a bunch of bulls**t. It was specifically designed against the United States and does nothing to help solve the problem.

One cannot explain the Ice Age until one comes to the realization that not every single form of pollutant the human race creates is contained within the grounds of the ozone layer. Another misconception is that air quality is irrevocably connected to the thinning of the ozone layer, when it is only trace amounts of chemical residue from the pollution that rise up to the atmosphere while still retaining their ozone-depleting qualities. By what modern science would have us believe, everything under the sun damages the ozone layer beyond repair.
Well there are plenty of reasons for an ice age...it occurs as long there is a dramatic shift in Earths climate. It can be lots of volcanoes, flaw in milankovich cycle, meteors, ect.

Now I have a question for you , although the thinning of the ozone really doesnt have to do with global warming and most scientist believe in it, what actually caused the thinning of the ozone layer...and why is it over more urbanized areas?

Human activity causes the thinning of the ozone layer and it is more over Antartica

I heard about the hole in antartica but thats because seasonal winds move from more urbanized ares to the south pole, otherwise known as antartica.

OK, lets just play here for a moment.

Lets assume (and I know its a stretch) that Jonty is right, and global warming is mainly nature.

shouldnt we be working on alternative and preferably clean fuel sources any way?

cos the fossl fuels are going to run out sooner or later. Better we are well prepared ofr it, rather than having to scrabble around at the last minute.

In the UK, you can now buy Solar Panels and have them installed at your house by a High street electrical goods retailer, and provided your residence meets certain criteria, you are entitle to a grant that covers be about one third of the cost of a basic solar panel installation.
why doesnt the government, in order to encourage take up of people installing these syetems , offer more: tax breaks, larger grants, and so on. if an individual wants to install a wind turbine in their garden in order to create and store electricity, why not remove the need for them to get planning permission. why not, again, offer a tax incentive to do so.

they could do it. but they dont.

I notice that you don't consider India nor China to be major countries.

I don't know about you, but I don't consider two of the most populous countries in the world who are both large polluters, because they are developing economies to be minor countries.

That's the Kyoto Protocol's biggest problem. It exempts China and India to do anything.

Kyoto was nothing more than a wealth transfer from rich countries to poor ones. If environmentalists really want to save the environment than every country needs to be included and there cannot be any form of wealth transfer.

Or how about actually try to save the enviroment

Global warming is a natural cycle. The Earth warms up just prior to ice ages. We had a slight ice age (scientists call it the little ice age) that lasted from the 13th to mid 19th centruies. And it will happen again. If you don't like it, move away from Earth. Are human beings accelerating global warming? The evidence suggests that yes we are. Will the Earth change in the not to distant future? Certainly. Will we be plunged into another ice age? More than likely. Will we survive? I'd assume that yes we will survive because we survived the last ice age with nothing but fur bathing suits and spears. To put an end to carbon emmission, to stop cutting down the rain forests, to end pollution, etc will only put the global warming issue back onto its natural course. We can't stop it from happening entirely. Do I think that we should do our part to slow the process? Absolutely, if for no other reason than to stop emitting poison into our own atmosphere. Part of me can't wait for the world to run out of oil for this reason.

Global warming will occur. We will not stop it. The melting ice in Greenland will flood the North Atlantic current with fresh water breaking down the coveyor belt that brings tropical water and temperate weather north from the tropics. Northern Europe and Canada/NE United States will see drastic changes in weather. Snow and ice will creep south from the north pole and parts of the UK and Canada may become uninhabitable. Eventually the Earth will warm again, and this ice age will be over. In a few thousand years the temperature will be similar to what it was hundreds of years ago. Mankind will prevail. Does this all have to happen in our life time? No it doesn't, but at the rate we are going, these changes could start to take place within the nexr fifty years.

Pat Robertson now believes in Global Warming and he's God's mouthpeice, so it must be true.

Whether or not global warming is a real threat we know that we are causing damage to the earth and we should do anything we can to protect it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. fact.

So, the choice is in between a new Ice Age or continued Global Warming? Would you rather cook alive or freeze to death?

I think if I was dead I'd be unable to cook :down
