maybe that's why he became a bitter, loner conservative. he probably figures that since his life sucks, he'll follow the political ideology that attempts to ruin everyone else's lives.

Great, now the only sites we'll be able to access are the ones that shell out the most money. Way to screw the small business owners and everyone who browses the web. I really hope the Democrats take over the House this fall, because the Republicans are just a bunch of greedy-ass, corporate ****es.

By the way the greedy ass Democrats voted in favor of it to.

yup, i already went through this earlier in the thread, but i'm just as pissed at the democrats who voted against net neutrality, but it is a republican controlled house and the majority of those who voted against it are republicans. so there. :p

Well as long as that makes you feel better about the Democrats then I guess it's all ok. ;)

it really doesn't make anyone feel better about anything

Agreed. Any a-hole in Congress that voted for this thing needs a swift kick in the testes and a one-way ticket to Easter Island.

It shouldn't I know but I thought it might since the first couple of pages were all about how horrible the 'Republicans' were for voting for this when plenty of Democrats voted for it too.

I'd still be a conservative, no matter my situation.

So this proves that if you throw enough money at politicians, they will come around to your way of thinking. Even if this does still have to go through the senate to get approved, this is bull****.

Why the hell do we need these greedy politicians anymore? Seriously.

THEY ARE ****ING REDUNDANT!

ALL they care about is who backs their campaigns with money. That is it.

For once I have to agree with you there

I'm of two minds about this....I partially grew up in a world pre internet....the web didnt come to the forefront till I was in my teens

If providers want to have a "premium" high speed service and charge for it, I see that as free market type stuff

That's not really the issue though. It's stuff like slowing access to certain web content.

but if the carrier is providing the access, shouldn't they have the option to control something like that??

Basically...it is a matter of slowing down content that Powers That Be don't want you to see (or hasnt been paid for), so that it does not load.

Some website says that the government is going to censor the internet? Simply flip the switch on that website so people can't read the info.

Some small company starts up and is doing incredible business? Put them in the slow lane after taking a bribe from their competitor.

Any website that can't afford the fee could simply be shut down. You'd end up with a streamlined internet that only provided the information that was approved and paid a high price for.

It's putting our internet in the hands of a select few elite...rarely a good thing.

We should burn down whoever utters net neutrality! Bury their websites and gore pics and crud. Get dox on these clowns and bring the wrath of the internet down on their elitsit heads!

What this amounts to is some fat cat big bossman being able to keep the public from viewing his competitor's or opponent's perspective on things, or supress opinions he doesn't agree with. I guarantee riots if this **** goes through.
