Sony Imageworks were also present at this mega event and they showed off a special effects demo from the movie.

René A. Guzman: I saw "Spider-Man 3" exclusive footage

LAS VEGAS — While at the titanic tech-fest that is the International Consumer Electronics Show (shameless link to my CES blog here), I managed to catch some exclusive "Spider-Man 3" footage.

Was it all sorts of cool? Well, yeah. But we didn't see Sandman or Venom. We didn't even get Pete in either costume.

What we did get was Peter and Mary Jane all lovey-dovey in his web. And Pete telling Aunt May he plans to marry MJ. And May giving Pete a ring to put on his beloved's finger.

Then the fun started. Pete rides along on his scooter when Harry swoops in to pick him up for a whooping.

Yes, folks, Harry Osborn is gunning for poor Pete. And now he has the hardware to really put a hurting on his former pal.

What follows is an awesome aerial battle/chase through the city that was all sorts of loud, violent and cool. And I'm serious when I say this: Harry's villainous turn looks awesome. I mean, how else to explain the dude slamming Pete like a rag doll through buildings? Truly vicious stuff.

That viciousness ends when Pete brings Harry down to earth (or in this case down to alley) with a web clothesline. Harry isn't moving from his gnarly fall so Pete starts giving him chest compressions.

And that was it for the exclusive footage. Cue the lights and groans for more.
