Walt Disney Studios has confirmed to ComingSoon.net that they have acquired and are currently developing a science fiction property called
The Runner from writer Dave Andron, a writer on the rebooted "Knight Rider" television series as well as on "Justified."
The story, according to
Deadline, deals with a man sent back in time with the mission of stopping a deadly attack but who secretly plans to use the opportunity to save someone close to him.
Alongside Andron, Disney is working with Apparatus Entertainment's Marc Forster and Brad Simpson, Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer, and Blacklight Transmedia's Zak Kadison and Eric Lieb.
The project is being developed with Forster (who most recently directed
Quantum of Solace) in mind to direct.
