YEP! With a live action version of the original film currently in productionIs this a musical?
Now we know it's mediocre music because this thing is a streaming show cobbled together into a film.YEP! With a live action version of the original film currently in production
I don’t want him to do ANY project where his salary is his primary motivation. Then Disney should’ve thrown more money at him until he agreed to do it.
Lin probably didn't come back, because of the short notice on this. He did music for Mufasa for Christ sake. If there is a third (there will be a third), I expect him to come back. Then Disney should’ve thrown more money at him until he agreed to do it.
Yeah, a third is a done deal.Lin probably didn't come back, because of the short notice on this. He did music for Mufasa for Christ sake. If there is a third (there will be a third), I except him to come back.
Hopefully they actually get someone to write a movie next time.Yeah, a third is a done deal.
I can't speak for Moana 2 cause I didn't see it yet, but the audience I saw Wicked with clapped at the end. Which isn't common for Western PAJust got back. The movie is fine. Obviously can't touch the original, but it's super cute and it's going to please a lot of kids. It is very obviously a cobbled together first few episodes of a TV show. The pacing suffers because of it. Starts and stops, with a lot of calling back to the original, which you expect on a TV show continuation. It's really missing the epic heart of the first, though Auli'i is still amazing and definitely mines it for all it's worth. The movie looks big, but feels small. Which is why the big climatic moment does not feel earned. Wish it was a in a better movie.
Moana's crew is a fun concept, but the film is too short to introduce them, a intergroup conflict, and a resolution. It's the same with the entire film really. Not sure why what they're doing is happening in general.
The best part of the movie, is it's gayest. It's also the only good song of the film. Wanted more of that character. She felt like the only truly inspired part of the movie and she had chemistry with Maui and especially Moana.
To folks who think Lin is overrated, just watch this. The Rock's song is all time bad, and overall it feels like TV music. The only time the music reached the original, was the retread of the first film's main theme. There attempt at, "Into the Unknown" feels like a parody, taken seriously.
I thought it was hilarious that after seeing this and Wicked over the last 5 days, it was this one that got the crowd clapping at the end. Theater was packed. More then Friday. I think this is going to make a lot of money. And considering this movie feels more like an overall setup for another, that makes sense.
Audience clapped at 2 of my 3 shows of Wicked as well.I can't speak for Moana 2 cause I didn't see it yet, but the audience I saw Wicked with clapped at the end. Which isn't common for Western PA

This is what I expected, but I guess going earlier in the day can give you a less hyped crowd (I clapped a little but felt stupid alone). When Moana 2 ended though, the kids were so hyped. All the little clapping. It was super adorable.Audience clapped at 2 of my 3 shows of Wicked as well.![]()
On fire, as in, ACTUALLY on fire?Well the first theater I went to today was on fire which is probably a bad omen. But I ended up seeing it and it is... Fine. It's not a movie. It's like the first three episodes of a show and then they had to immediately push on to the climax. A lot can be forgiven though with some quality music and this... Did not have that either. But it did have some nice moments here and there that felt like glimpses of a better movie. It's gorgeous to look at, I like the sense of scale but it's dramatically harmed by how truncated it feels.
There was a fire investigation crew on site, they were giving everyone refunds at the door, and the employees were talking about how it would take hours to clean all the ash. Beyond that, not too sure what happened exactly. They just installed a Liemax with laser in there the other week, so I was making a point to try that one. Ah well.On fire, as in, ACTUALLY on fire?
