I look forward to Moana 2 the live action remake. Not because it'll be good, but because it'll be funny watching them get Miranda back to do a whole new soundtrack since no one can hum a single tune from this movie.

I think they were projecting based on what happened with Encanto but the difference there is that Encanto didn't really become popular until it hit streaming. And also it had songs by Miranda but that goes without saying.

But at the same time, as a more appropriate comparison for Moana 2 with the exception of it having a theatrical release, it's not like the songs from the animated DTV Disney sequels from the '90s really endured at all. Especially in comparison to the original films.

And of course as with Inside Out 2 the 4k for this and Mufasa are high…
Guess I’m grabbing the blu rays as I liked both well enough, but not that much.

How was it scrapped when Wish came out in 2023? It would’ve been way too far in development by then.

If anything that’s exactly what the ppl keep asking for and wanted Wish to be a new princess story with a love interest.
