Disney's Tower of Terror - Scarlett Johansson to star

How is that 90s TV movie anyway? Is it bad Disney TV movie or just bad TV movie?

I don't know what's sadder: the fact that they already made a Tower of Terror movie which probably said all that needed to be said about it, or the fact that it's based on a ride that doesn't even exist in Disneyland anymore.

You know Disney wants this to lead to crossovers like the inevitable Tower of Terror Vs. Haunted Mansion and Jungle Cruise Vs. Pirates of the Caribbean and Country Bears Vs. Garbage.

Is this what becomes of Johansson after Black Widow? She should have gone for an indie film…..

Wasn't this really always her trajectory? Mixing Lucy with Chef kind of thing.

Garbage as in the band? Because that could be an interesting Battle of the Bands right there.

Wouldn't it just be a Twilight Zone movie? Also...I mean...they got rid of Tower of Terror. Kind of making this movie about 15 years too late.

She does have an indie film lined up with Bride. She just happens to have this and possibly the Little Shop of Horrors remake too.

I don't think the general audience really cares. I mean, I had no idea Jungle Cruise was a thing and I'm still looking forward to that movie. As long as it looks interesting and it has Scarlett attached to the project which will get butts in the seats

I remember the Disney Channel movie which was good for a kids original movie.

Isn’t the Tower of Terror still there? It’s in Orlando I think.
It's still at Disney World in Orlando, which I believe was the first Tower of Terror. The Guardians of the Galaxy ride replaced the one in Disneyland in California.

Neither. It's not outright bad, just kind of cheap and expendable.

Tower of Terror was one of my favorite rides at California Adventure. I was bummed when they replaced it with Guardians of the Galaxy

But the one in Walt Disney World is still there and I found it to be better than the CA version when I went last month

Anyway, I hope the movie maintains the creepy vibe that the ride has. It has such a cool backstory to it

I mean, she's coming off of two Oscar nominations in 2019. As others said, she has 'Bride' coming up. She's always mixed independent films with big budget tentpoles. I still really don't want her in 'Little Shop' though, just can't see her as Audrey.

Anyway, this seems like more of them bizarrely recommitting to the "Turn Our Rides Into Movies" plan two decades too late. But the Tower of Terror is still at almost all the major parks except Anaheim, so it's still relevant. I hope they keep it creepy and not some action-packed CGI extravaganza. I'd love to see Karan Soni or Tony Revolori as the elevator operator.

Does Disney hold rights to The Twilight Zone at this point? Meaning will we still get the Twilight Zone theme and Rod Serling incorporated? Or do they have to re-negotiate all that for the movie? It's a big part of the ride (or more accurately, the entire reason the ride exists) so I'm curious how it works out for the movie.

CBS does because there was a Twilight Zone reboot on Paramount+ that had Jordan Peele serve the Rod Serling role.

Ugh, I hope this doesn't mean they're going to remove all traces of it then.

Sounds like Little Shop has been postponed for the time being. No idea if the remake will even happen at this point
