Dissidia - Final Fantasy for PSP

So about 2 years ago, I got Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions on my PSP, my first FF game. LOVED it (though still haven't finished it). This Summer I, like everyone else got FFVII on PS3, and again, haven't finished it but I'm really enjoying it.

So I guess right now I am about as casual an FF fan that you can get. This will be my 3rd FF game. The demo is AWESOME.

I didn't

:O

Neither did I. I didnt start with FF till FFX. Its probably why Im not getting quite as excited about Dissidia as others are bc I havent been exposed to any of the characters outside of the 2 from X

Been playing the game since the release. Pretty fun fights, the board system thing not so much. Definitely worth it.

I tried it but man its too complicated for me. Its very deep but in many ways too deep

I wonder what the chances are of Dissidia or a sequel ever coming to the PS3.

i'm sure it will. i bet this series will become a franchise like smash bros. plus a console version could boast a ton more features and characters.

Yes. Yes I do. I just got this game very recently and started to play it, because I needed a break from FFXIII, which at a certain chapter has become infuriating as well.

Anyway, so I started to play this and it wasn't too hard at first, that was until I reached my first challenging boss and I wanted to smash my PSP. The AI in this game borders on precognition. Always dodging all of your attacks and countering you perfectly.

It's like this game has only two difficulty settings. Easy, with the AI being way too dumb to defend itself and the second is Annihilation, where the AI will be able to murder you literally in seconds if you don't dodge perfectly.

It's a good game, but good lord... it makes my blood boil.

This might not come as a surprise, but we got the first info of a possible Sequel.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Sequel Possible
Tetsuya Nomura secondhand Tweets and hints rock our world.
by Anoop Gantayat

March 17, 2010 - Twitter is currently vying with Famitsu as the place to go for Japanese game news. Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada, Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima, Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino -- they all have Twitter accounts, and they occasionally offer some newsworthy Tweets.

Our latest Twitter update comes from someone who doesn't actually have his own account. Square Enix super producer Tetsuya Nomura was featured earlier today in a Twitter-based interview posted at the the Square Enix Members Twitter. The interview was conduced by Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto based off fan submitted questions.

During the interview, Nomura made one mention of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Asked to list a percentage completion for the game, he said, "Not everything is connected together, so the various areas have different levels of progress. However, you can fly across the world map in an air ship."

It looks like air ships are confirmed for this entry in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series.

Aside from this, Nomura would not comment on his many projects, including Final Fantasy Agito XIII and Parasite Eve sequel The 3rd Birthday. One person asked him about the possibility for a Dissidia Final Fantasy sequel, and his response seemed to suggest that a sequel could become a reality.

Nomura also said that he'd like to release two titles within the year. We'll hopefully start getting some details on these games soon. And if those details happen to come through Twitter, we'll be sure and pass along the info to you.

If they do, I hope XII gets better representation. They left the best characters from that game out of Dissidia

Well, they gave us Gabranth. The only one I care about from XII. So I was pretty much satisfied.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. But since I'm still busy with the first game, I'm not exactly in a hurry. Square Enix can take their sweet time. I hope though that we'll get more than additional 2 characters from new FF games. It would be great if we'd at least get one additional character from each FF entry as well.

But my main wish is that the series will make it to the PS3. Or develop it for both systems.

I wish they'd make like a more streamlined version of Dissidia on the PS3. Give it an actual story with gameplay elements instead of the board + 1v1 battles and it would be ****in awesome.

Imagine having 3 on 3 battles and being able to swap between any of your characters at a seconds notice, with a cast that expands it to 2-3 characters on each side per each game.

Having 3 vs 3 or even just 2 vs 2 battles would be awesome. 4 or 6 people causing mayhem and destruction in the stage? Jumping, flipping, slashing all over the place, that would get pretty intense, especially if the opponent suddenly teams up on you.

I'm already pretty amazed how awesome they made the fighting mechanics on the PSP. Man... the things they could do on the PS3.

I dont even rememebr him from the game. All the judges came across very generic for me and werent memorable after I finished the game. For a villian, Id have preferred Doctor Cid. I hated though that there was no hero to represent the game. That didn make much sense to me. Either Baltheri, Ashe, or Basch would have been good

Well, he was more of an extra character. He wasn't part of the main story. So that probably explains why there was no hero to represent XII.

But have you seen who represented XI? She goes by the name of Shantotto and is a b**ch. :cmad:
