DMG's "Cosmere" franchise

DMG Entertainment bought film and licensing deals to Brandon Sanderson's "Cosmere" fantasy novels. They've already committed $270 million to fund half of the first three movies, and the author gets a rich backend for each produced film.

The studio set Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan to adapt the first novel, "The Way of Kings", with an eye to fast-track the film to production.

I wont object to this. The Mistborn series is fantastic and so far The Stormlight Archives has been epic.
Be interesting to see how this goes.
