I was just thinking. But do you think that World War III will pull DC out of it's slump?

If by slump, you mean the utter crap that the comics have become after OYL, then god no. The sheer fact that DC cant even remember that they ALREADY did WWIII shows it. Not to mention that the whole "event" is a clear afterthought supports that notion.

I wouldn't call DC's comics utter crap. OYL is a failure (especially since I was so excited for it), but the comics are still good.

Morrison's Batman is kicking ass. Just hopefully he doesn't do that "book" style issue or get another crappy-ass fill in again.

Johns' and Donner's Action Comics is kicking ass.

Wonder Woman used to kick ass. But the last two issues were rather bad :csad:

The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive started off horribly but is now pretty damn good under Guggenheim.

Green Lantern started off okay but is kicking ass since OYL.

Justice Society of America pure awesomeness.

Justice League of America has great art and the writing is good. What hinders it is the slow as hell pacing and the incredibly lame roster.

Teen Titans hindered a bit with OYL, but with Titans East it's starting to pick back up again.

Buy Manhunter dammit! Also Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis.

I would recommend Firestorm: The Nuclear Man but that's getting canceled :csad:

OMG! Mybotisgone is still obsessing over this crap!!!!:whatever:

Wait a minute, he's that tard that started that ******ed thread of "big changes" at DC for getting it's ass handed to Marvel.

Yeah, he's the one saying that DC is doomed.

DC is not getting its ass handed to by Marvel...

and jaydawg, we all know that "WWIII" already happened, i was confused at first also, but the running thoughts on it was the that the first wasn't a real world war, thus can't be called as such...

and right now, DC's better than Marvel, IMO... I like both but c'mon, 52's way better than Civil War... and DC proved to us it can release a weekly comic without late issues...

another failed mybotisgone thread. how exciting

Once and forall.. WW3 did NOT happen before.. they stopped it before it happend!

since according ot OYL, WW3 wasn't that big of a deal, then it really doesn't excite me, Im more excited about Marvels upcomeing World war Hulk and intiative stuff etc.

Being an Aquaman fan and being someone who loved Under the Hood--although wish there was a better explanation as to why Jason came back, but the Superboy-Prime thing does make sense really just not very "cool"--, those are the 2 main reasons I'm looking forward to it.

Aquaman: Sword Of Atlantis is cool, but man do I miss the original Aquaman. They better have some amazing story as to what happens to Orin and why.

As I already said, I loved Under the Hood. I was extremely dissapointed and disgusted when Nightwing OYL's arc came out with Jason taking on the Nightwing persona to piss Dick off. This World War III story will be the only thing that can help save any respect I may have had with that crappy decision. They better also have an amazing story as to why Jason does what he does in Nightwing OYL.

Last reason is simply because it is part of 52 and with the exception of the Week 47 and 48 (weren't amazing but weren't bad either; but Montoya as Question is just annoying the hell out of me and Nightwing basically played side-kick when he is the one with WAY more experience) I have extremely enjoyed this series a whole lot. I cannot wait for WWIII to come out.

Perhaps I'm alone in this opinion, but I haven't been impressed with 52, I enjoyed it, but some of the stories were good, and some were just "meh"

Civil War, despite it's flaws did have an epic feel, and for once a reason for heroes to fight other than "They were pawns of the Grandmaster" or "their was a misunderstanding"

I think there's an inherent limitation in 52 that it happens in the past, and this limits it's scale. I don't think WW III Is going to be all that impressive since the time frame it has is only a few weeks.

I just think its stupid that theyre releasing all 4 one shots on the same day, WTF?!

You're only just realizing this? :P

They should have just released a cheap graphic novel.

No, I just find it to be an incredible lapse of judgement on DC's part.

Asking people to buy 5 comics in one week to read one story seems odd to me. You know only message board geeks are actually going to do that.

They really should have just released it as a graphic novel since they planned on releasing all parts of it at once.

Morrison's Batman is kicking ass. Just hopefully he doesn't do that "book" style issue or get another crappy-ass fill in again.

I love anything Morrison, but this is one run I can do without. His Batman is just a generic superhero and the less said about Daimen, the better. I mean, Ninja Man-Bats? Could that be more fan-fic-ish? However, I will say that Dini's underrated run is fantastic.

Johns' and Donner's Action Comics is kicking ass.

I would completely disagree with this. Superman has more or less become a reflection of his films, which is not a good sign. Can we get over Zod already?

Wonder Woman used to kick ass. But the last two issues were rather bad :csad:

WW used to kick ass... when Rucka wrote the book. He had the best run ever and I can't stress enough that there was nothing wrong with his Diana. Giving her a secret ID is utter crap.

The Flash: The Fastest Man Alive started off horribly but is now pretty damn good under Guggenheim.

Agreed. Bart is no Wally (really, he never should have been Kid Flash to begin with), but it is picking up.

Green Lantern started off okay but is kicking ass since OYL.

Now this is one area we'll never see eye to eye on since I hate Hal Jordan with a passion. Give me Kyle, Guy, hell even comic's John is more interesting.

Justice Society of America pure awesomeness.

Agreed.

Justice League of America has great art and the writing is good. What hinders it is the slow as hell pacing and the incredibly lame roster.

Great art. Great writing? Debatable.

Teen Titans hindered a bit with OYL, but with Titans East it's starting to pick back up again.

Not even. Johns' TT has always had a handful of good arcs and this is not one of them. He's destroyed Cassie's character, doing a half assed job of explaining Cassandra and the ending of the latest issue was so cliche.

Buy Manhunter dammit! Also Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis.

I do buy Manhunter. But damn, I miss Orin already. Its a shame enough people didnt care about Sub Diego, cause that was awesome.

I would recommend Firestorm: The Nuclear Man but that's getting canceled :csad:

So for the most part, yeah, DC sucks OYL.

so....like 3/4 of the comic book community will be throwing down cash for it.

The messageboard community is nowhere near that much.

Hence why messageboard popular comics like Manhunter, Checkmate, The Thing, Invincible sell very low.
