f**k no, I don't give a s**t if you're cussin' like a sailor in my presence, as long as you don't light up a f**kin' smoke around me, then we're good as gold...

I'm offended by people being offended by swearing.

**** no it doesnt ****ing offend me when people ****ing cuss in my ****ing presence.:D I myself cuss like a sailor so Id be a bit of a hypocrite if I got offended at others for cussing.

It's childish. The news is intended for adults, yet they can't say ****. Who are they trying to protect exactly?

Another stupid thing is bleeping. Or saying the F-word or N-word instead of ****. Everyone knows what you're talking about, so why not come out and say it?

Louis CK has a bit in one of his stand up specials about saying the N-word which makes you say it in your head because you know what means so if you want to say it then just say it instead of making us say it in our heads haha

Offend? No.
Annoy? Yeah, when used too much, or in places I think don't deserve it.

"Annoying as f###", especially in an instant followed by "good as f###" is one instant I think it's annoying. So you like 'f***' or hate it?

Not sure about all the ways you guys use it over here but trust me when I say f*** can be a very good thing that many do enjoy :oldrazz: haha

I'm not offended by cursing. I use to curse a lot a when I was younger, I couldn't speak in front of class in college without cursing; now I barely curse at all mainly because I don't have a reason to.

The thing that'll bother me is people that can't talk without every other word being a curse word; it's like is all that really necessary, especially when you're talking to your kids?

There was a girl I use to work with who constantly used the word ***** everytime she spoke and even called her kids that.

F### is a word that can be used in every part of speech and be a place holder word to imply explamation and strong emotion.

So when someone says "annoying as F###" or "happy as F###" F### is acting as an adverb, and indicator of how strong the emotion is.

Cussing can be cathartic and there is evidence from neuroscience that indicates cussing being a natural stress reliever. Thats why when we stub our toe or hit our funny bone or get very mad we "cuss" in some way. Whether the person says "F### F### F$##" or "goshdarnit!!!" doesnt really matter. Just having that explosive outburst for some reason acts as a stress reliever for humans. Hollaring and screaming acts the same way. Its a natural reaction. So sometimes its legitimately warranted and okay to cuss in some form.

F*** yes, mother****er. :mnm:

Just so I am clear, the majority here just start cursing in front of people they don't know? Like in real life? :funny:

I don't like when cuss words are used in public where kids are around. It's even worse to see actual parents cussing out their own kids  Visit a ghetto or redneck area and watch a toddler be called a MF. Parenting should require a license :o

It doesn't offend me, but I rarely swear myself.

It doesn't offend me, but I don't use it just anywhere.

Like I swear regularly with my friends, but not out in public ordering food or something. I think there's a time and a place.

My language is salty and I have no qualms about it in front of damn near anyone. But I do keep it clean around children and old people, gotta have a bit of class :woot:

The same here. Though I do get offended if I am with my mother, older people or the younger folk.

well i dont use that Stuff around kids or at work! one must have a Modicum of Decorum!!
Around them and at work i use the king's English! Like saying "Doth thou mother know that thou wearest her drapes?"... but around my friends and cronies i am all "What the ^&* does that mother^&*( have on from his Mom's Mother^&*(ing closet!:cwink:

No, it doesn't offend me at all. I think almost every adult swears at some point throughout the day, though most of the time they are sensitive to the context (as they should be).

Here's a question, does anyone here curse in front of their parents?

Racist, sexist, and homophobic slurs are offensive.

Other curse words are crude expressions of emotion. Using them in public, particularly with children around, is classless, but their offensiveness is generally situational/cultural.

My mom always use to say... "People that use a lot of profanity in their daily conversation are just showing their lack of educated vocabulary". I always remember that before I'm about to let profanity fly. .

There's an old adage that says we curse when our vocabulary is insufficient to express what's on our minds. It's a good one to remember.
