Do we as humans fall in love with Darwinian traits or redeeming traits?

There are biological reasons nice guys finish last. Doesn't that disprove intelligent design?

Actually, nice guys finish first, nobody can exist in a vacuum, we all need allies, and how we get to have allies is by being good to them.

Being a jackhole is usually of short term benefit, and not a good way to live life, you might be one of the small percentage that live successfully like that, but most of them get nowhere.

But remember, all altruistic actions are actually veiled selfish actions, as they all have benefit to the altruistic one, so maybe in the long run we are all really jackholes.

Basically, don't trust anyone, because even the ones that are nice are just doing it for another reason.

Darwinian traits = Hereditary traits - can't Hereditary traits also be redeeming?

Depends on what you consider redeeming. In the terms of propagation of your seed in the biological sense, any action that aids that process is of ultimate redeeming quality, but in the human construct of morality, maybe not so much.

Nah, that is a bad way to go, you have to play the probability game, or you will not survive, remember, this is not a zero sum game, one selfish act can benefit both the giver and taker, as most of the time they are also playing the probability game in hoping you will return the favor.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go - Rule 30 of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Pirates
