We see threads about other people's death a lot. But it's a reality for our own existance. None of us live forever. Do you take into account that you will die, and cease to exist one day?

How often does that reality affect you?

Just curious.

It crosses my mind quite a bit actually :o

Maybe the thought increases when you hit your 20's I dunno.

I think about it mostly at work

"God dammit 50 more years of this then i die, what the point of it :("

But alas! you need money to travel the world and see it all before you die, so its a lose lose situation

I think you can almost look at your years as a percentile. The higher the percent the more you think about your own death. Let's say you live to be 100 somehow.

Well if you are 25 then 25% of your life is gone. 50 then 50% is gone. Most likely if you are 50 you'd ponder death more than when you are 25 as you are now closer to it. When 60-70 that's nearing the end and usually where religion finds an individual.

Why? Because they don't want to face a non existance.

Find God, cause it's easier to believe in continuing to exist. Rather than eternal sleep.

I want my gravestone to say... "Died heroically, giving his life to prevent the resurection of Hitler."

Thatl confuse people who see it :)

Thinking of your own demise is inevitable and normal.....but doing it too much is unhealthy. After I died in 1983 and was brought back by a good doctor....I tend to not dwell on it much.

I try to avoid thinking of it, but it pops in every once in a while.

I hope I die for a good reason.

Die a hero ya know? as corny as it sounds.

Just need to pass my seed on a bit more, spread it far and wide as they say, then il be able to die happy :)

I think about it every day. In fact, I'm thinking about it right now. I'm imagining a horrible, young death. :csad: .... with Spideyssuperfan standing on top of me, laughing maniacally.

Death is an inevitable. The only thing I don't want to be is some grizzled old guy.

That's why I'm calling it quits at 60

Yea, I think about it but it doesn't affect me that much... that's life (na na na-na)

When I drive on the interstate, when I leave the house at an ungodly hour when I wash my face or hair and my vision is impaired. So every freakin day.

Why do so many people equate old age with unhapiness?

So many young kids go think that "live fast die young" Kind of thing, but I wonder how many really stay with it.
I think alot of the people that continue believing that, well into middle and older age end up dead or abusers.

Anyway, I read that there was this study, or poll. I can't remember clearly.

It was about older and younger people and which were happier then one another. Apparently the majority that rated happiest were the older people.
 *shrugs*

I constantly worry that it is going to be something stupid. Like accidently stepping in front of a car, or over dosing on water(seriously WTF! You know if there is a heaven. That chick is up there bi**hing hardcore!) I just don't want to go out stupid style.

:o I dunno what you guyz are talking about...I've found the fountain of youth.

I thought of it for the first time in a long time the other day. I...really don't mind it. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I don't love life or am unhappy, but I realize, it'll happen when it happens, and I don't really fear it.

I just dont want to fall off a building or be murdered
