When you go to a restaurant, do you leave a tip? If not, why?

I always try to leave a tip. If the girl or guy is nice to me, they get a big tip. Not only that, I know waiters and waitresses don't get paid much per hour, so they need tips to live on really.

Depends. I don't leave a tip if the service was horrible

Ive never actually had terrible service
So usually I tip

I always tip - no matter how bad the service is. However, if I'm not satisfied, they may end up with a few pennies or a coupon. A tip is a tip, right? But some tips are worse than having no tips. :yay:

I almost always leave a tip. I've left a restaurant without leaving a tip maybe 2 times. Those two were because the waiter/waitress decided to wear their shirts upside down that day and decided to talk to me with their a**es instead of with their mouths. In reality though, I did tip them. I think I gave one of them 12 cents and the other I left a Subway stamp... 9 more and he would've gotten a free 6" sandwich.

I tip when they are nice.
I can tolerate if they had a bad day like if they are slow or just ***** and moan in the back but if they take it out on me or they get annoyed with me, then yeah, no tips.

Your tip is my gracing your peon ass with my presence in your establishment.

My mom actually had to coerce me to tip when we all went out for our random "family meal". :o "Boy, put more than two dollars on the table for that girl!"

I usually tip $2 or $3 dollars, no matter how the service was.

I barely tip for poor service, but good service nets a great tip. I've been known to tip 40% or more.

I can't believe you tried to tip your girlfriend only 2 dollars.

Always leave a $5-$10 dollar tip. Only if they are a good waiter or waitress.

I tip big when I receive great service, I tip 20-15% when it is average, 15-10% when it is sub par and a nothing for bad service.

i always tip even if ishouldnt. i usually give atleast 20%

Geez, bunch of William Randolph Hearsts up in here. :o

I tip between 15-20%, depending on how the service was. And I have never really experienced any horrible service.

I tip accordingly. If you give me sucky service you get a sucky tip. :o

It's not that big a deal, I mean $5 for a $12 dollar meal isn't that great, really.

I rarely ever carry cash on me, so most of the times no, which makes me feel bad, I won't charge it to my card, either. If I do have cash, it honestly depends on the service. If their rude or uncaring I won't. But if their polite, caring, get the orders right, and if it's a girl depending on how cute she is, I usually leave a good tip.

Decent service gets a 10% tip. Good service gets 15%. Bad service gets $0-$1. Restaurants that dare to pre-enter your tip on the bill get the bird flipped toward them as I leave.
