to see The Night Gwen Stacy Died (done properly) in the reboot ?

That depends on how you feel. I felt that it was handled quite well in TASM2, and more than a few people agree with me. So, I don't have much of a desire to see it done again.

No.

Though it wasn't 100% comic accurate in TASM2, it was one of the better moments in the series.

I'd rather take a break from Gwen Stacy anyway. Kick of the franchise with MJ, Betty Brant, and Felicia Hardy.

I enjoyed the scenes as they were presented in the movie. It was entertaining.

But I am sorry, the delivery, the message, the emotional impact, it was all lessened by the creative choices taken in the franchise. They put themselves in a corner for the next movie by switching so many things around.

I don't care if these stories or villains from the Sony era are to recent or revered or whatever, I believe Marvel can adapt them properly, even if they take creative liberties.

No thanks.Would be more of the same which I really don't want.

Nope. We just saw it done, and done pretty damn well IMO.

Edit: 4,000 posts!

Meh, we already saw it. I'd prefer we focus on Peter and MJ (done RIGHT...).

They've already done three iconic storylines: Spidey's Origin (twice, one done great, one done decently), The Symbiote Storyline (botched), and Gwen Stacy's Death (done great). Kraven's Last Hunt is the next one that needs to be adapted and in Marvel's hands, I expect it to be great.

THIS!
As much as I wish it had been Norman that killed Gwen AND on the bridge, I still thought it was handled quite well in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Maybe in the future some day, with an "epic" fight to the death between Spidey & Goblin.
The Spider-Man: The Animated Series episode "Turning Point" is the tone I'd like them to go for.

On a side note, I want them to start off with Liz Allan as the love interest this time, with Betty Brant being the main love rival

Fixed that YT link for you.

That's one thing that really disappointed me about Gwen's death...no Goblin fight after, I was expecting some epic battle after Gwen died. Something similar to the final Spidey Goblin fight in SM1.

That, too, was a byproduct of them wanting to set up the Sinister Six. I was certainly disappointed.

Despite all the revelations in the trailers, I thought maybe the fight itself was something they were leaving out; turns out, they didn't have one at all.

However, I still think Gwen's death was executed very well. It's just unfortunate that the rest of the stuff that was attached to it was a mess.

Aside from your percentage being off by quite a bit...I agree with the latter. In fact, it's really not comic accurate.

It was given justice in ASM2, and it stands as the best scene in that cluster**** of a movie. The only thing that would be gained from redoing it would be making the details match the comics closer, which is unnecessary.

I think it's essential. Everyone loves the relationship between Peter and Gwen thanks to the actors but Gwen knowing his secret identity ruins the whole point of it.

There is room for improvement, I don't think a little more accuracy is a unreasonable request.

I think it only had one chance to impact the GA the way it did in TASM2.

It was a pretty shocking moment for those who went in blind

It is when it's unnecessary. Gwen knowing his identity doesn't change the impact the event has on Spider-Man. The only truly important aspects of Gwen's death are (1) Peter Parker's first love dies due to his superhero activities, and (2) that her death is a direct result of Peter's actions. Everything else, the bridge, the Goblin, her not knowing his identity are just details. Do they enhance the impact? Yes. Are they absolutely necessary? No.

I also say no. I can't imagine the moment from TASM2 being done any better, just by adding the bridge.

I think the moment of Gwen's death in tasm2 was where Webb's dramatic sensibilities shined. The buildup I did not like (Goblin was shoehorned in only to bring about that sequence), but the scene itself was done really well

Just as a standalone scene it's probably Webb's best.

If it's done again it might be more comic accurate but that won't matter to the GA. Gwen's dead to the audience the minute she's on screen now. It can't have the impact it had the first time.

Is it still worth doing just to add a bridge and different goblin to the scene? Probably not if you're starting with Peter already as spiderman, if you're retreading the orgins again why the hell not, it just might not go over well with the GA and critics, which you can't afford
