Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock

Didn't expect there to be a 2D platformer aspect. That could be a pleasant surprise. The game has a Telltale look to it, which I think works for Doctor Who.

I'm a big enough fan that I'll give it a shot.

It looks alright, I guess. If it captures the spirit of the show that will go a long way.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock "Epic Trailer"

Huh, I didn't know the game was using the Unreal Engine 3. Anyway, it's great to see some co-op gameplay footage in the trailer.

I just found out about the new trailer - which Sgt. Pepper posted above, and subsequently watched it. Can't wait to buy this one. Love Who already, but y'know, playable River and voiced by Alex Kingston. :hrt:

Awesome. The guy pretty much confirmed more games are coming too!

Why yes, this game is the first in a series of three games. I believe that information about the other two games will be releasing later this year.

Oh my god. Imagine getting to go up against The Master in a good Doctor Who game!

Looks a lot better than I thought it would be. Probably get it now.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Delayed

Finishing touches just being added to #DoctorWho: The Eternity Clock with the release now set for April – believe us, it’s worth the wait!

You are the Gamer Who Waited.

Heh, nice one. :funny::up:

At least we only have to wait another month. It's just that I hate the unspecified release date.

They should really do something special for the anniversary. Give us a game that lets us play as every doctor. The first level could be black and white, maybe with retro graphics! Then you work your way up through the (re)generations.

Picture this...

Mass Effect but with The Doctor.

Perfection.

I don't think the Doctor fits into a role playing game. Unless you are playing as someone else, the Doctor's character is pretty much set at this point. Now a Doctor Who game that plays like Uncharted, that would be something to see.

Maybe not a traditional role playing game, but imagine Mass Effect where the Normandy actually the TARDIS, you can choose where and when you wish to go, pick up main quests and side quests, have dialogue structure. For a character like The Doctor, who isn't violent or shouldn't really have a combat system, having a dialogue structure like the ME games would be amazing. Being able to convince whatever enemy to retreat like The Doctor does, from time to time, by simply using logic.

It could be a way to do an Eleven Doctors story. And not being able to customize the Doctor (except for maybe clothing), could be made up through creating your own companion.

If there was a BioWare/Mass Effect style Doctor Who game it would be have to be you playing a companion to The Doctor. That'd be the only way that would work.

You could play as a Time Agent like Cpt. Jack. You would cross paths with the Doctor on your investigation.

I could see that just being one of the many companion classes. As games like that usually have classes.

You know, a Mass Effect approach to a Doctor Who game could work really well if you think about it.

I mean, I guess the default Doctor would need to be Matt Smith. But, they could allow us to create our own Doctor (with options that'll allow us to craft a version that can resemble previous Doctor's. So, the create-a-doctor would need to be flexible enough for that).

The Doctor's personality does seem to shift after a regeneration, but still in his moral parameters. That could be equal to the Mass Effect Paragon-Renegade bar. Shepard is never evil. He's always the good guy. But, you can choose to be the good cop or be the bad cop. So, adapt that approach to maybe having The Doctor's personality shift post-regeneration so you can kinda own your Doctor.

I dunno, seems like a template that could work with Doctor Who.

I wonder if there will ever be a Doctor Who game that allows you to play as The Master as well? Could be interesting, especially if you get to choose your favourite version.
