Does liking "Linger" by the Cranberries make me less of a man?

I always think of it as 'music to beat your girlfriend to', due to the fact that when it came out the guy across the hall from me would turn it up really loud to cover up the sounds of him beating on his live-in girlfriend. Strangely, she would also turn it on real loud when she was cleaning the apartment.

I'm not sure what that says about you and your manhood, but it's really not about you anyway. :O

You're absolutely right, this is not about me at all. BTW, that really disturbing

That's not true.

My penis would be humongus
it's got to be the right type of girly music, otherwise it just shrinks

true dat

I guess the point is I shouldn't feel embarrassed about listening to anything really. If you like it you like it. I just wanted to pose this question to see what people thought. If your response is that I am in fact less of a man, than that says a lot about you. It means you'd feel that way too listening to Linger, also you're probably a child so you don't count. If you thought it was cool, and good idea in general you're probably the type to be more embarrassed being caught listening to bad music then girly music.

I find it interesting how we look at music different depending on our age. When I was a kid I had no opinion, I listened to what my mom did. Then I got older and listened to whatever she hated. Now I listen to what I liked without real regard to who else likes it, with lots of transition in between of course. I don't know how this works with girls. It seems like they start with girly love music, move on to ****ty/dancing music, then perhaps quality music with a mixture of the first two, then finally just quality music or just girly love music. I've also noticed women who like country early on tend to stick with it their whole lives and don't fall into that category. This can be good and bad, depending on your feelings about country, I personally hate it.

Strange how boys grow up to listen to heavy metal rock and rap, generally more aggressive angry music. They're supposed to, at least society tells them to. Then when a kid shoots up a school they blame the music he listens to. Strange. I don't know... rambling.

i used to listen to about 80% "girly" music, back in the mid 90's. music like juliana hatfield, belly, magnapop, velocity girl, etc... good music is good music, no matter which gender the singer is.

I find that most people tend to listen to music that I hate

It' true, it seems like dudes get all stupid about female singers like there's something wrong with listening to them.

I love the Cranberries!

Dolores is awesome.

I HATE (HATE!) Linger though.

Isn't "Linger" a song about a woman talking about her boyfriend's farts?

I used to like the song, but now hate it because it was in that godawful movie Click with Adam Sandler:down:cmad:

Did you like her "She-Elvis" phase in the video for Salvation?
Ehh... She looks okay there, but too dikey IMO. I was suprised when I found out she wasn't a lesbian. I think she looks best from this period...

Shirley Manson's more my speed, but Delores and her Cranberries are alright, too.

interesting way of looking at it, shallow and superficial, but interesting nonetheless

you're so dead to me. and not even zombie dead. you're bambi's mother dead.
Sorry, it was 2x1 night at the movies, couldn't resist.
Nobody warned me it was that bad, sure reading Sandler in big bold letters and seeing his huge mug on the poster should have been enough, but at the end I made the unfortunate choice.:o
