People here at work do this constantly, and it bugs me. They'll explain something, or respond to something and always end it with, "does that make sense?" And it's all the time. "How would you go about doing so and so?"

"Well, first I'd do A, then finish up B...does that make sense?" It's like one of those filler phrases people use. That's what they use in order to leave themselves an opening in case whatever they said ****s up later on down the line, I guess.

Those are the same people who look at themselves in the mirror and wonder if they should have been born of the opposite sex.

like what bamfer does.

Eh, I'd rather have them check than always assume you know what they're talking about.

TOB says: [He] is just lame, meaning he has nothing to redeem himself with when he appears creepy for trying to be creepy.
Runt says: ahhh
Runt says: gotcha
TOB says: My opinion anyhow.
Runt says: makes sense
TOB says: Does that make sense?
Runt says: hhaha

I guess it's just that sales lingo.

Who are you talking about?

bamfer wears his mom's bras on his head and tries to make his own women out of doll parts

Tell them that it does not make sense and that they should stop sitting on the f-ckin fence and stand by what they have said. Tell them that when something they say does not make sense, you will let them know in good time without being prompted by their passive manor of horsesh;t.

Or, you know, they're making sure you know what they're talking about.

Well if they're having to say that all the time then they must have poor communication skills -- either that or they are so up their own a$$es that they think you wouldn't be able to follow their genius line of thinking.

so there basically saying "or are you too stupid to understand?"

is that what u mean?

I guess it's like when people end their thoughts with "you know what I mean?"

Yeah, it's either they atleast know that they elaborate more than one might be able to comprehend in a short time span, thus the filler phrase, or it's just a case of them perhaps being fully aware that they are not at all very good at explaining things without getting perhaps too techincal for the average joe. Honestly, it's probably a bit of both depending on the individual.

I reply 'no' each time.
