Does the flash have to limit his speed?

Hi.
This may be a stupid question, it may not, but, I've been watching the flash and had a thought I wanted to try and find an answer to.

So. In the more recent flash series, Barry Allen first time travels accidentally and Dr.Wells basically tells him its because he ran so fast. If that's the case then would the flash need to be aware of what speed he would time travel at? Then, if he is aware of that speed, would he then need to ensure he always runs slower than that speed so he doesn't time travel again? Also, what would happen if he needs to reach a higher speed to do something? In a later episode when he needs to close the wormhole he needs to hit at least mach 2, which he hasn't hit before, which would imply he needs to go faster than the time he accidentally time travelled.
Which would then mean he would end up time travelling accidentally when trying to reach those higher speeds.

I know I've probably missed or I'm unaware of certain details that might explain this but hopefully someone can help shed some light on the topic.

Since I’m a bit of a science geek, I enjoy discussing the possibilities and the (more numerous) impossibilities of various superpowers. :nerd: But ultimately, these are fantastical stories about fantastical characters. And writers get to invent the “rules” of their fiction. Less excusable is when “internal logic” is violated. I.e., a “rule” is explicitly established and then later (either through sloppiness or indifference) is contradicted. Though even in these instances, some fans can be quite forgiving. The rationale seems to be that fantasy — be its very nature — isn’t as beholden to narrative consistency as other genres. Allegedly… :word:
