Transformers Don Murphy is a bit pissed.. well very

One thing is for sure, the action is going to be off the chain:up:

^.And that's the ONLY reason i need to see this movie..multiple times!

I agree with the guy. It always seems like the hardcore fans always hate change the most. I've always thought, to grow, you must change. Sometimes this can go the wrong way, but sometimes it can really turn it into something magnificent. I mean, what's the point of retelling a story if it's already been done before a thousand times. Things must grow and change, it is life. Pshaw.

Imagine Steven Spielberg went off on the haters, that would of been sweet.

He'd probably get his friend Tom Cruise to help him.

YOU DON'T KNOW THE TRANSFORMERS, I DO!

then he'd laugh hysterically because he's god damn insane.

On the other hand though. You can never please everyone, especially a fanboy. Some people won't be happy until we see a straight port of Starscream's look from the comics and cartoon to the screen. Sure his updated look is a bit shady, and I'd have loved to have his wings sticking out from his back, but I'd still take this design over the original dorky and clunky toy any day.
I agree with you. Does everyone her remember playing with the G1 toys?? They exposed a huge weakness in the cartoon. That a real life version just was not going to work. Most of them couldn't move their legs, couldn't hold up their arms (Optimus Prime especially), etc. These version are based more in real life. Which in my opinion will make them a hell of a lot more intimidating.

"Transforming is a pseudoscience," he told host Matt Lauer, later saying: "You don't know the history of The Transformers. I do."

Cruise looked like a man possessed -- or at least in need of an Ativan -- leaning insistently forward in his chair, hammering Lauer.

And the meltdown continued: "Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt, you don't even -- you're glib.", said Cruise.

I agree with Murphy. Theres alot of "I hate the idea." but not one of them are saying ... I am not seeing it.

Well, surprise - I'm not seeing it. I won't buy the toys, and if some fastfood chain has a tie-in, I won't eat there until it is over.

Those designs should by all means look worse in motion, because you'll see the surroundings through the ten million holes in the surface.

And I've read the script and hated the vast majority of it. I guess that technically, this makes me a hater - But none without rhyme or reason.

Cool, that means I the theatre will have an empty seat! I can go twice!

every fandom on the hype has there mr parker and bakerboy, i guess transformers have found theres

I give credit to Don for his rant . . .but at the same time there is a reason why he has to go off on one. There's enough released to make fans question their decisions, and as ultimately this picture is paid for by us, we will determine the cash it brings in.

Yes we do tend to over analyize every aspect of every comic film to come out, but we called what would happen to \S/ after the suit and plot points came out. So after a shot of prime the story better be damn good to compensate for some of the other areas.

I'm not happy about a lot of this and my hype is starting to go down, but I'm also willing to wait and see, and while I may not go on opening weekend chances are I'll see it once before it closes.

I'm finding this slant in the conversation quite funny. When I was a kid I could have cared less about such trivial ideas as the toy's arms having wearable joints that made Optimus' arm swing when you put the gun in it. When you're a child, all that matters is your imagination. My God, I'm 33 and I still remember what it's like to be a child. In fact, I'll always be a big kid at heart.

You are a failure with a Peter Pan complex.

Why thank you. ;) What would I ever do without your infinite wisdom? I guess I'm going to fly back to Neverland now.

Again, if anyone hates the new look, then you might want to avoid the Alternator line. Serious.

I don't like the changes either, but they have expressed numerous times they are trying to make this as REAL FARKING LIFE as possible. What they did on the cartoon and comic cannot be done or be done to make it believeable in real life ... aka dissappearing trailer.

This trend of film writers and directors answering questions of the fans and creating blogs may backfire one of these days. Granted, getting input from your fans is good, but you're basically getting input from people that are on the internet 24 hours a day. They may want to reconsider the advice they get from us. :p

I had a spat with him on the IMDb, and then he was banned! LOL. Don Murphy sucks as badly as Bay. They belong together.

I wanna give Quentin a high 5 for bullying him up.

Don Murphy is a typical Hollywood guy. He is so wrapped up in “that world” he thinks he has a better idea for what we want and need than we do. Let’s not forget that Hollywood has not had an original idea in like 20 years. They just take existing properties and bastardize them in to bad film.

Of course there are a small handful of exceptions but this looks like it will not be one of them.

Do another power lunch Don and ****. You are one in a very short list of elitist hacks in the film making industry that are there are a buffer to ensure good films never get made.

I find it very amusing and somewhat sad that the paradigm has shifted so drastically. It used to be that many comic, anime, and sci-fi fans felt it was their duty to voice their opinions on these film adaptations and be a counter balance to many studios, which are quite frankly out of touch a lot of the time.

Now it seems like the vast majority are the “fan boys” who have been whipped into shape by hacks likeDon Murphy who lash out and the fan base and tell all who disagree to “go away.” The same fan boys but now they are "Hollywood fan boys." The ever compromising low expectation fan boy, just happy someone is making the film no matter how good or bad it is.

Sorry but Don Murphy’s little tirade (where is has some points) lost me at the toy mold part. Any way you cut it, if that is the leaked concept for Starscream, it sucks and sucks bad. I don’t care which version of TF you are. I am not afraid to say it, Don Murphy can kiss my ass I am not going anywhere.

Don Murphy is a lunatic. Most posts on his board are fake... some sort of attempt at building up "phantom buzz" and fake strife. His tirade is just evidence of his immaturity. The guy sounds like a 5 year old.

As for the movie... I haven't posted about it in a long while because I frankly stopped caring. I waited all my life for this movie, and after a few weeks on these boards and over at Shootforedit, I couldn't care less.

I think a lot of people have felt the same... and they have indeed left just like Don Murphy wanted... paving the way for Snakes-on-the-plane sort of kiddie blog buzz. This movie could have been like Spider-man... no, better! But instead it's.... ahem- Godzilla 97.

and you can honestly say all this without seeing this movie?????

I think he just proved Don Murphy's point.

I find it ironic that Spider-man is what this movie should strive to be because we know they didnt change a thing(Organic webbibg,No radioactive spider,Goblin suit, raised webbing, focusing more on Peter and MJ than on superheroics)

I don't know why people assume Murphy should be above arguing with his fans. He's basically getting down on our level so to speak to converse with us, and we act the same way towards others that he did in that message. So long as Starscream attempts to usurp Megatron as leader throughout the movie, whether in a subtle or blatant fashion, I don't give a **** what he looks like.
