Yes - Doug will be playing Abe Sapien, The Chamberlain and the Angel of Death, with maybe another one thrown in, but that isn't certain.

Yeah saw that blog update today and that Doug was online early this morning. I told him if he keeps up his Burger King Diet they'll have to re-tailer his Abe Sapien suit. LOL

Doug could eat six square meals a day and not put on an ounce ... lucky bugger. :D

We've decided to put the blog up on Doug's site as well as MySpace as not everyone is a member. Doug has some free time at the moment until the cameras roll on June 8th, so it'll be interesting to see how his schedule works out. With 3 characters to play, it's going to be busy ...

he's playing a she?

that'll be interesting to see.
It wouldn't be the first time.

That's the Tooth Fairy to a movie (can't remember off the top of my head but I'm sure Hellmistress remembers) that went from thriller to horror/slasher and the costume and Doug were never used. It's a shame since the costume is really neat. At any rate, the images are from Doug's website.

The film is Darkness Falls, and the design is by the brilliant Steve Wang. Doug spent time in Melbourne, Australia, in 2002 as they filmed this one, but the director and the studios decided to go 'schlock horror' and cut this breathtaking design out of the film, going digital instead. The film bombed.

In the B.P.R.D. volume "The Dead", Abe meets the ghost of his late wife. Wouldn't it be cool if Doug Jones played those scenes in a future sequel?

Well these movies are called Hellboy. But im sure if the next Hellboy does really well I wouldn't count out a possible spin-off that could explore his past.

^Glad Doug has some fanboys, he definately deserves them.
Some? *snicker*

I had the honor and privilege of spending more than 3 hours in Doug's company at last year's San Diego Comic Con and let me tell you we got nowhere fast for all of the fans who kept stopping him to talk to him and have pictures taken with him. He's very approachable and very easy to talk to, even if I did get a kink in my neck when I was standing next to him. Doug is well loved by everyone who meets him and it's a well earned love.

>^..^<

^I agree, and i'm glad he does get the credit he deserves, despite the fact that his face is rarely shown.

The affection and respect that he garners from fans is something I deal with every day, with emails and messages coming to his official site. So many people have met him at a con, or at one of his many appearances etc., and they all say the same thing - that he's a sweetheart, generous to a fault with fans, great fun, patient and kind. Never, in the years I've known him, has anyone said an even remotely unkind word about him. And what's more they just have to tell someone about how nice he is! He's a rarity in the business - a truly decent, nice guy who deserves every accolade for his remarkable talent. :D
