We also don't know how powerful the force is or Vader's full potential, but from what I saw Vader do in the movies, Doom will do better.
Can anyone who is a fan of the SW: Expanded Universe elaborate how powerful the force really is?
The power of the Force depends on the person wielding the Force. Vader is an exceptionally powerful Force user. According to the prequel movies, Vader is the Chosen One, who had the potential to be the most powerful Force user of all time, greater than either Yoda or Palpatine. Despite being far less experienced than Obi-Wan Kenobi (who, according to the EU is the master of the Form III defensive lightsaber style), he had his former mentor on the ropes for the entire fight, constantly pushing him back. Anakin only lost because of a moment of stupid arrogance.
After his injuries, Vader suffered from a bruised confidence and mental problems that limited his potential, making him "only" 80% as powerful as Palpatine (according to George Lucas). Still, he was extremely powerful. In the one-shot comic Purge, set shortly after ROTS, Vader takes on eight Jedi Masters and Knights, slaughtering most of them with ease. The last few finally got the better of him before his stormtroopers came to bail him out, but the comic made a point about how this was an inexperienced Vader.
The Force gives Vader exceptional speed, strength, agility, and leaping abilities. It also grants him precognition and danger sense, allowing him to anticipate his opponent's moves before they even make them.
One of the deadliest Force abilities is telekinesis. Lots of people bring up "Force Choke," but that's only scratching the surface of what Vader can do. Vader only bothers choking people he wants to torture, such as Imperial officers who have failed him. As shown in the movies, novels, Clone Wars cartoons, and comics, Jedi are easily capable of hurling multi-ton objects around and crushing their opponents instantaneously.
In the Clone Wars cartoon, Anakin telekinetically stabbed the severed leg of an enemy walker into another vehicle, destroying it. Mace Windu and Yoda were able to shove aside dozens of battle droids, and Mace crushed General Grievous's chest (along with his internal organs) with a thought.
In the Dark Empire comic, Luke was able to bring down AT-ATs with his telekinesis.
In the novel The Courtship of Princess Leia, the Dark Side witch Gethzerion instantly ruptured a major blood vessel in Luke's brain, and he would have been finished if she didn't leave him for dead, allowing him to heal himself with the Force.
Vader is technically capable of using Dark Side lightning, but according to the author of the novel Dark Lord, he doesn't because the electricity can screw up his suit.
The Empire Strikes Back shows that Vader can kill someone without even looking directly at them, such as when he choked Admiral Ozzel over a viewscreen.
As shown in the various movies, Force users can use their powers to deflect, or even absorb harmful energy attacks, such as blaster bolts or Force lightning.
The most powerful Force feats were done by the Dark Empire Palpatine clone (the original Palpatine had transferred his soul into a fresh new body after his death, and spent 6 years studying the Dark Side). He was able to summon "Force Storms," which were holes in space-time which he could use to teleport things across the galaxy, or even tear apart entire fleets of starships. Vader never came close to this mastery of the Dark Side.
I'm not going to get involved in this versus debate, since I'm not knowledgable about what Doom can do. I'm just informing everyone about what the movies and EU have shown Vader to be capable of.
