Going to post my short film script here pretty soon. It's registered under WGA w I believe. (If not, then it's WGAe it's under) It didn't do too good in a recent script competition and I just want people to read it. Have no hope of getting it off the ground now and made into a short film, just want people to read it, if I can't get people to watch it as a short.

The script runs 30 pages and is a thriller. It's either a PG-13 or R script, can't remember for sure since I've written five spec scripts in total, and there's two different drafts for this script. (There's a 30 page and then there's a 33 page draft of Dream World)

FADE IN: pg 1.

EXT. LODGE -- FRONT PORCH -- MORNING

KENNETH, 23 and JENNIFER, 22 and gorgeous, passionately kiss on the porch.

MARY, 60's and white hair, steps outside on the porch and spots them kissing.

MARY
You two better stop kissing and get inside before Kevin arrives.

Kenneth and Jennifer stop kissing.

JENNIFER
Kevin won't get mad. He knows we are over.

MARY
You two were together for nearly a year. I think he'd still have feelings for you.

JENNIFER
He's over me, Mary.

MARY
Fine, he may be over you, but you are dating a friend of his. My grandson, Kenneth.

KENNETH
Ok, we'll head inside, grandmother.

Kenneth and Jennifer walk inside the lodge.

INT. LODGE -- LIVING ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

JENNIFER
What are we going to do for the weekend?

KENNETH
I thought we go skinny dipping in the lake, go on a picnic, and have lots of sex.

MARY
I don't see how that's possible, since you're not having any sex in this lodge.

JENNIFER
What if we go into one of the other lodges?

Pg 2.

MARY

As long as I don't hear you screaming like last time.

JENNIFER

I don't scream during sex.

KENNETH
You just let the cat out of the bag, Jennifer.

MARY
I'm going to forget that my grandson screams like a woman during sex.

EXT. LODGE -- PARKING LOT -- MORNING

A blue car parks next to the lodge. KEVIN, 24, steps out of the drivers side. MARK, 23, black, steps out of the front passengers side.

EXT. LODGE -- FRONT PORCH

Mary greets them as they walk onto the porch.

MARY
Are you two trying to save money on gas?

KEVIN
No, ma'am. Mark's car broke down and he called to see if I could bring him up here.

MARY
We can talk inside.

They walk inside the lodge.

INT. LODGE -- LIVING ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Mark looks around the living room and notices no tv.

MARK
Where's the television at?

MARY
Oh, there's no cable lines out here. No tv and no internet.

MARK
What are people gonna do when the lodges open up?

MARY
This is a place to escape that stuff.
Pg. 3
MARY(CONT'D)
I want people to relax when they're here, and not to worry about their jobs or anything.

KEVIN
So, you invited us here because we're stressed out?

MARY
Well, I could use a little help with a few things, before the lodges open up in two weeks.

MARK
Ok, no problem. When will Kenneth and Jennifer help us out?

MARY
I only need a couple people to help me out.

Kevin and Mark exchange looks, realizing they've been tricked coming up here.

INT. LODGE -- KITCHEN -- MOMENTS LATER

Kevin and Mark sit at the kitchen table, eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with milk.

Kenneth and Jennifer walk into the kitchen.

KENNETH
Hey, when did you guys get here?

Mark turns around in his chair.

MARK
About ten minutes ago.

KENNETH
I see Mary is feeding you two before you repaint the lodges.

MARK
Please tell me you're kidding.

KENNETH
You have two weeks to repaint the lodges, guys. That's plenty of time to get it done.

KEVIN
What are you two going to do to keep yourselves busy?

JENNIFER
Oh, swimming and some romantic stuff.

Cool.

Jen's kinda blunt and I don't think Mary would be so... ungrandmotherish about that.

But other than that, good writing, dialogue, everything.

Thanks.

I know not everybody will like this short story, but as long as I can get it (this) out there for people to read..hopefully a few will enjoy it, since like I stated in the first post, it will never be shot as a short film. Well, unless I or my parents win the lotto...but that's very slim.

You might be able to look around, find someone willing to foot the bill. In Asheville, NC, where I used to live, they had a huge indy film community mostly volunteer. How far are you from there? With all the amateur filmmakers there it would probably only take a quick visit to get somebody's help.

Oh,...I imagine it's a bit of a drive. I'm not that far from the beach here.

ah, yeah. not that bad though, plenty of sights to see and junk.

I have no idea actually. farthest ive ever driven INSIDE NC is from Lexington to Asheville.

Pg 4.

KEVIN
Swimming wouldn't actually be skinny dipping would it?

JENNIFER
Good guess.

KEVIN
(winks)
I just know you too well.

MARK
That's gonna get old in just one day.

KENNETH
It's better than what you two will be doing.

JENNIFER
I bet you guys wish you never came up here today, now.

KEVIN
Nope, because I can finally get that sunburn I wanted.

JENNIFER
Still have a sense of humor.

EXT. LODGE -- FRONT PORCH -- MORNING

Kevin and Mark stand side-by-side on the porch, looking at the lodges.

MARK
So, you still like Jennifer?

KEVIN
What makes you say that?

MARK
I dunno, maybe the fact that you winked at her in there, and haven't been on a date since you two broke up?

KEVIN
What do you think?

MARK
I think you still want her.

Kenneth steps outside the lodge and onto the front porch.

KENNETH
I can't find Mary or the paint brushes and paint.

Pg 5.

KEVIN
I find the latter part to be very good news.

Mark turns to Kenneth.

MARK
I saw her leave the kitchen after she made us the snack.

KENNETH
She must've stepped outside, because she isn't in the lodge.

MARK
Maybe she's in one of the other lodges?

Kevin turns to Mark and Kenneth.

KEVIN
I'm going to take a walk in the woods. Just need some time alone to think to myself.

KENNETH
If you see Mary in the woods, tell her she's giving her grandson gray hairs.

KEVIN
You're that worried about her?

KENNETH
Well, there are bears in these woods.

KEVIN
Oh, I see.
(beat)
I'll just be extra careful while on my walk.

EXT. WOODS -- MORNING -- MOMENTS LATER

Kevin walks around in the woods.

KEVIN
I can't believe the first person she's dating after our breakup is a friend of mine.

Kevin walks up to a log and sits on it.

KEVIN
Broke up the day before I was going to ask her to marry me, too. I should have asked her sooner.

where's the rest of it? You should post it all at once so interest isn't lost.

If I post it all at once...there's no point in doing that. I want to see if there's a demand for this...even if there's not, I will still for some reason copy/paste it all into this thread.

Pg 6.

P.O.V MASKED MAN

Kevin sits on the log straight ahead.

END POV

KEVIN
I really want her back. Need to come up with a way to get her back.
(beat)
It's not like she's going to take me back if I tell her I still love her.

P.O.V MASKED MAN

Kevin still sits on the log. He is only six or so feet away.

END POV

KEVIN
I can't cut his brakes. Maybe I could...I dunno.

P.O.V MASKED MAN

Kevin is only a foot or two away.

END POV

Kevin senses someone behind him. He turns around and sees a MASKED MAN.

KEVIN
Who the hell are you?

INT. LODGE -- LIVING ROOM -- DAY

Jennifer and Mark sit on the sofa, while Kenneth stands in front of them.

KENNETH
It's ten past noon, nearly two hours since we've seen Kevin and Mary.

JENNIFER
Maybe we should call the police?

MARK
It won't do no good. To file a missing person report, a day or two needs to pass without seeing the person.

KENNETH
Let me see your cellphone, Jennifer.

JENNIFER
What for?

Pg 7.

KENNETH
I can call my grandmother's cell phone and see where she is.

MARK
Smart thinking.

Jennifer hands Kenneth her cellphone. He dials his grandmother's number. A cellphone rings off screen.

MARK
It's coming from inside the lodge.

Kenneth walks to his grandmother's room and opens the door. He walks inside. He shortly steps out of the room with the ringing cellphone. He hangs up her cellphone.

KENNETH
She must be in the area.

MARK
How do you know that?

KENNETH
Mary only takes her cellphone if she's going out somewhere. She wouldn't take it if she's in the area.

JENNIFER
Okay, what about Kevin? He's been on a walk in the woods for about two hours.

KENNETH
We search for them both. Mary could be hurt in one of the lodges, and maybe the same for Kevin in the woods.

JENNIFER
Or maybe he's lost in the woods?

KENNETH
(doubtful)
Yeah, maybe.

JENNIFER
He could be!

KENNETH
It's a possibility he is lost, but there's a higher chance a bear has gotten him, or he's injured.

MARK
Remember earlier when you said that you couldn't find Mary or the brushes and paint?

kidding. some guy said it over in community couple days ago. ;)

Pg 8.

KENNETH
I remember.

MARK
Maybe she's repainting the inside of one of the lodges?

KENNETH
I don't think she wanted the inside repainted, Mark. You could be right, but I don't think so. She never mentioned it to me.

JENNIFER
Are we going to look for them or just keep waiting?

KENNETH
We'll look for them. You and me will search the lodges, while Mark can search the woods for Kevin.

Kenneth looks at Mark.

KENNETH
If you see a bear...run like hell.

JENNIFER
To make sure we stay in contact, how about we all take our cellphones?

MARK
I've got mine. Kevin forgot his at home.

KENNETH
Call or text if you've found them or something important. Like a clue.

EXT. WOODS -- MOMENTS LATER

Mark walks around, looking in every direction for Kevin.

MARK
KEVIN! KEVIN!

No answer.

MARK
KEVIN!

EXT. LODGE B -- FRONT PORCH -- DAY

Kenneth and Jennifer stand in front of the front door. Kenneth turns the knob and opens the door.

JENNIFER
Wait, are all of the lodges unlocked?

Pg 9.

KENNETH
Maybe. Mary could have came here, unlocked the door, and done something in the lodge.

JENNIFER
What if someone was hiding in here?

KENNETH
We're twenty-three miles from the nearest town. I don't think anyone is hiding in this lodge, or in the other lodges.
(beat)
At least I hope not.

They walk inside the lodge.

INT. LODGE B -- LIVING ROOM -- CONTINUOUS

Jennifer closes the door. The lodge is dark, but not dark enough that you can't see.

JENNIFER
If Mary's in here wouldn't she have turned on the lights?

KENNETH
It obviously isn't that dark, Jennifer.

JENNIFER
Right.

KENNETH
ARE YOU IN HERE, MARY?

No answer.

KENNETH
Let's check the rooms just to be sure.

Kenneth walks over to the kitchen, while Jennifer walks to the master bedroom.

INT. LODGE B -- KITCHEN -- CONTINUOUS

Kenneth looks around the kitchen. No one's here.

INT. LODGE B -- MASTER BEDROOM

Jennifer looks around the bedroom. No one.

EXT. WOODS -- DAY

Mark walks over to the log where Kevin was sitting at. He's about to sit down, when he notices blood behind the log.
