DTL Season 4-Week 6 (Set 3)

The rules:
This is one of four threads, each containing two match ups.
The threads will be in use for 6 days.
Days 1-4 (Thursday-Sunday) are strictly setup time for owners to plead their cases, tell us their team’s strategies, breakdown the match ups, and do whatever else they can/want to do to try and convince you that their team would pull out a victory. Please, let the owners do this on their own with no help from you, the fan.

When Day 5 (Monday) rolls around, I’ll post and tell everyone that voting may begin. Only after doing so will voting start. Any votes cast before I open voting will not count.
To vote, look over the matchups and read the owners strategies and take them into consideration. Afterwards, use your best judgment to decide who you think has the best chance to win the match up and post up the teams you think will prevail.
(Note: The length of a writeup is up to the owner. Do not punish owners just for having a shorter writeup.)

To vote, give each writeup a score out of 10, with the team you feel winning the match earning the higher score. No tie votes are allowed, one team must get a higher score, even if only by a single vote.

Remember, to vote for each match up or your vote will not count!

The teams with the highest vote total at the end of the 6th day (Tuesday) will get a W while the other will get an L.

Materializing in the crowd, Blink: How do we find them?

Protex: We wait.

Grodd: What will most definitely happen: Exodus will not waste his time finding us. The three of us are way too powerful for him. Fate will erect a psionic shield. There are too many minds to scan to find us and the minds that are around us are being controlled by us. Thier only way of attack is the magicain.

Without pointing, Sersi: Up there!

Protex: NorthStar, take Blink with you into that alley. Blink, you'll know when the time is right. Teleport yourself to Fate and NorthStar to Deadline.. Go!

Sersi: The minds around us are being swade... WATCH OUT!



The Seperation


Jump in different directions, the three members of the 'Devistating Silence' dodge Proctors sword which was thrown at them by the telekinetic power of Exodus... Sersi, Protex and Gorilla Grodd all at once focus all of thier telepathic power on Exodus., Though he fights for only seconds, Exodus knocks out Gorilla Grodd before his mind is overwhelmed and is forced to seperate Proctor head from his shoulders... Fate tries to intervene, but quickly finds himself teleported to the top of the Big Apple(See blink vs. fate)... Deadline also move forward, but is blinded by a mysterious light and only hears wind at his ears(see northstar vs. deadline)... Vision have already calculating all of this, has taken a more subtle, but ferious approach by phasing himself and bulleting through the crowd and solidifying as he collides with Protex(See protex vs. vision)... Which leaves us with only Exodus and Sersi.



Sersi Vs. Exodus



Exodus: Ahhhh, yes... The wench. The last time we met was in Genosha... As I remember, I throw you to the side like the peasent that you are.

Sersi: Before I could locate you again, you had retreated... Now. We find out whos better...

Exodus: Ofcourse. But your friend is waking... Let us be off some where more... Personal.

The two fly to the top of NYC's skyscrappers, waiting in anticipation... The first move is made by Sersi, pulling on of the skyscrappers over sized antena off of the building behind Exodus, hurling it at him. Swiftly he adverts the attack, but Sersi grabs the object and uses it as a weapon herself. Quickly grabbing it and swinging around, Sersi is able to connect with Exodus...

Prep-time

Proctor: "Sersi..."

DL: "So?"

Proctor: "She was my...wife in my reality. And in others."

DL: "Oh, so will this be like a strange marriage where you two have a happy reunion."

Proctor: "No, I killed her. I've killed her in many realities."

DL: "Oh, so it's more like a normal marriage."

Proctor: "She is mine!" he says to the rest of the group.

Fate: "No, not this time."

Proctor: "You will not stop me magician!"

Fate: "I can, and I will. We cannot afford to act like idiots in this fight. They have a lot of power in their team, and if we don't counter it properly, none of us will live."

DL: "And I like living. So I'm going to have to side with Fate here. Hey, did we mention the other Fate we fought with?"

Fate: "Other Fate?"

DL: "Yeah, said something about getting stuff from you..."

Fate: "No, don't tell me anymore. A man shouldn't know too much about his future."

DL: "Hey, you got that line from that movie!"

Vision: "I must interrupt," the synthoid says, throwing a look at Deadline, "and concur with Dr. Fate. If we do not plan this properly, a favorable outcome is unlikely."

Proctor: "I really do not care what any of you do, but I am going to kill Sersi. You try to stop me, you will end up like her."

Exodus: "You are truly an idiot, aren't you?"

Proctor: Pulls his blade. "You are about to die."

Exodus: "Not likely." With a wave of his hand, Proctor is stopped in mid-stride. "I've telepathically blocked your motor functions. Although I can feel your resistance. Your own telepathy and mental control is surprising. But I digress..." A flick of the wrist, and Proctor finds himself against the wall of the office they secured for their preparations.

Fate: "That is exactly why we cannot allow ourselves to become distracted. Or our opponents will do the same thing to all of us."

Vision: "There is no need for you to abandon you desire to kill Sersi. The issue is timing."

Proctor: Sheathes his blade, and rejoins the others. But not before throwing a rather vicious look at Exodus, who just smirks in return. "Then what do you suggest?"

Fate: "The difficulty will be keeping our opponents away from all of the people that will gather here tomorrow night."

DL: "And why is that such a problem?"

Fate: "Tomorrow is New Year's Eve, and this is Time's Square. There will be hundreds of thousands of innocent people put in danger by our fighting."

DL: "Hmmm...see, you left out the part where I'm supposed to care."

Fate: "What?!?"

Vision: "He is correct. If we attempt to focus our efforts on protecting lives, then we will not give the battle the attention it deserves. The probabilities will shift against us."

Fate: "How can you say that?"

Proctor: "You are the one who said we cannot afford to become distracted."

Fate: "With our own petty grudges. Those are innocent people!"

Exodus: "They are just humans." Fate looks at the mutant in disbelief. "I, for one, will not waste my energy on saving them."

Fate: "You can't...we can't...we have to..." Kent Nelson can't get the words to form.

Proctor: "There is the problem of the people being turned on us by the others."

DL: "Kill them."

Fate: "No."

Vision: "Or turn them ourselves. Use them against the other team."

Fate: "NO!"

Exodus: "I could do it, but I risk splitting my attention. Losing any telepathic battle I may be in. Of course, the same could be said for them."

DL: "So, kill them. Takes care of the problem."

Vision: "All of them?"

DL: "Well, it'll be tough. But I'm sure we could think of something..."

Fate: "ENOUGH!!!" The other fall silent. "I refuse to be a part of some any attack against the population."

Proctor: "Then we will do it."

Fate: "NO!"

Exodus: "Yes." Fate and Exodus glower at each other. "You know, I know, we all know, that we cannot afford to be distracted. If the people become a distraction, they will need to be delt with."

Fate: "I won't be a party to..."

Proctor: "Yes you will. Because if you do anything to jepardize our victory, then I will kill you myself."

Battle-time

Basic breakdown:

Fate takes on Sersi. His magic is pretty much the only thin gon the team that can protect him from telepathic attack and transmutation. The battle in the sky. At first, the people cheer at the light show, but soon begin running in fear, trampling over each other as they flee from the fight...


Vision comes across a group of people and begins attacking one of them with different lifesigns. When the person is hit with his heat beam, Protex yells out and shapeshifts back into his normal form. Telepathy has no effect on Vision, so the two battle in the sky and on the ground, shifting between levels of intangibility. Protex even takes over some people and sends them at Vision, but the synthoid either disables the people, or just kills them with his beam...


Blink and Grodd are on the top of a building, waiting to attack when they are surprised by Deadline flying up through the building and Proctor teleporting onto the roof. But Proctor is hit by the hiding Northstar, who then goes after Deadline. Before Grodd can pounce on Proctor, he's hit by Exodus' psionic blast. The two fight and Blink and Proctor battle...


The fight between Deadline and Northstar goes nowhere as Northstar is too fast for Deadline to shoot, and Deadline phases past any attacks against him. They move the fight closer to their allies to help them...


Exodus' blast knocks Grodd of the building, but the ape's agility lets him flip, swing, and drop safely to the ground. When Exodus arrives, they telepathically attack each other. The even turn the humans against the other, with Grodd physically killing any that get near him, while Exodus is forced to use his tk to keep the humans away or make them dead and harmless. That's when Northstar intervenes, almost reaching Exodus before he senses the other mutant and gets a tk shield up. The two attacks pushes the mutant until Grodd yells out in pain. His eyes go wide and unfocused and he falls. Standing behind Grodd is Deadline, his rifle smoking. Exodus grips Northstar in a tk field and Deadline finishes the job.


Blink and Proctor teleport all throughout Time's Square, never quite getting the advantage over the other. That's when Proctor starts killing off people to bring Blink out into the open. "Stop that," Fate says from above as he traps his teammate in a bubble. Fate is hit from behind by an attack from Sersi who tries to transmute him. "Release me or we both fall!" Proctor shouts as Blink reappears. Fate is frozen for a moment before Nabu intervenes and forces the buble to fall. Proctor teleports into the air infront of Sersi. Fate takes the moment to dive down and stop Blink. "Sersi," Proctor says. "You are not my Dane." "That doesn't matter to me," he replies softly, getting closer. She tries to probe his mind, but time with his own gann josin, combines with his abilites, help to protect his mind. "We can be together, Sersi. Here...now." Sersi smiles as she builds for an attack. "You are trying to seduce me," she says, luring him in. "No," he replies, "just trying to get close enough to kill you." Sersi looks down, her eyes wide as she sees the Ebony Blade in her chest. Magical energy rips through her as Fate returns.


The Protex/Vision fight has continued on with no headway for either fighter. Hundreds of dead surround the two. As the other members of Chaos & Order arrives, Protex becomes invisible and intangible. "I will find him," Fate says. But before he can cast a spell, Protex's invisible hand phases through him, taking him down. Vision grabs the Ebony Blade from Proctor saying "Trust me." Proctor lets him have it. Listening to the environment for a moment, Visions throws the Blade and it embeds itself in midair. Protex screams with pain as he becomes visible, his intangible form cut by the blade.


Fate tries to stand up. Vision goes to help him, but Fate shakes him off. "Leave. Me. Alone!" he says. Fate stomps off into the now empty Square as the giant screen above the street ticks off 3...2...1. Confetti automatically falls into the empty street. "I think we made him mad," Deadline says.

Vision burning away a guard that he surmised was a threat. As Spider so elegantly puts it: "Willingness to act." A political euphemism for vaporizing a dude's head, right, Hulk?
