While I would have loved that scene… staying away from the words jihad or catholic makes sense for a producer standpoint concerning GA.
Just did my 2nd IMAX viewing. Still so f***ing glorious. My hype for Part Two alone should be able to sustain me for the next couple years lol.

For me this isn't about the base of the series or what the genre is.Dune is definitely another LOTR for me. Not a huge fan of the series, but like the movies well enough.![]()
Feel you. Since release I am listening OST each day.Just did my 2nd IMAX viewing. Still so f***ing glorious. My hype for Part Two alone should be able to sustain me for the next couple years lol.
You don’t have to “get it”. Others have vibed with it. You just haven’t and that’s ok.For me this isn't about the base of the series or what the genre is.
It's THIS movie and how it's executed. I am intrigued by all the ideas of DUNE. I've found them interesting since I was a teen.
I cannot fathom why this version is being praised, not even generally, but by ANYONE.
It's objectively a monumental visual acheivment... And I seem to recall my entire time here on the Hype that visuals are never enough to justify either a film's existence or one's personal enjoyment, that character and plot must rule the day when analysing films and that beautiful CGI can never ever replace practical visuals and on and on for nine years now... So I don't understand the juices this gets flowing in people and that's after seeing it twice and being disinterested and bored to tears each time.
I don't get it. Both the film and how people are reacting to it given what so many have claimed were their standards for so many other things that have hit our screens.

It seems they cut a bit too much... Yueh feels like the biggest victim. And Leto.
