Sci-Fi Dune

The leaked trailer looked cool, but I do hope we get a lot more footage once the official one comes out on the 9th. I was confused at first until I realized it was teaser for a teaser trailer and yet its easily something Warner Bros could have definitely put online by now and gotten way more hype/buzz going, but nope they want to be idiots and hide it from everybody. It makes me wonder if they even realize way more people are going to see that trailer online than at any theater right now, but I'm guessing they don't or else they would have uploaded it.

This is an old tactic of WB. Theyve done this with every Nolan film since TDK. They release the trailer exclusively in theaters for 3 - 7 days, and then release it online. But this is the longest exclusivity window I've ever seen them employ. WB's purpose is to force people to go to the theater and pay money to watch it, and in the case of Nolan he wants to force as many people as possible to watch his trailer's on the biggest screen possible the first time. In this day and age its just inconvenient horse****, and more often than not results in people having to watch a camrip the first time.

And Dune is definitely not the film to employ this tactic with. Denis doesnt put butts in the seats like Nolan. This film needs as many eyes on it as quickly as possible. As much free marketing as it can get. Its success at the box office was an uphill battle before COVID. Now its on a knifes edge.

I've never gone to a cinema for a trailer. There's no point trying to force people.

Has anyone been lucky enough to see the trailer yet?

Yeah low quality here too. If you've seen the leaked images, you have basically seen this teaser.
It's anchored with Pauls test by Mohiam and cuts back to it a few times, other than that it's mostly quick character shots. I'd just be patient for the real trailer coming up.

Damn it, just release the ****ing trailer. Last week was so ****ty that we deserve something that doesn’t suck for once.

WB taking the "trailer for a trailer" thing to a whole new level.

I like non-dolled-up Zendaya a lot more. Chalamet looks like he's 15 on the top photo.

Idaho seems to be fighting Sardaukar. Their uniform is different from Atreides and Harkonnen, if Raban's grear is anything to go by.

It must be the scene where Idaho fights Sardaukars while Paul and Jessica escape from Kynes desert base.

watched the leaked teaser. its short 2 second shots . if you saw the screenshots you missed nothing. the full trailer will show more.

Timothée looks very young and from official dune pics he is waaaay to skinny to do anything. like anything in life. Saw some paparazzi pics from him and Eiza González (girlfriend) and his legs are skinnier than her arms. Not expecting Henry Cavill muscles but how about doing 10 push ups, pull ups and 10 squats a day?

I've yet to see Chalamet show the "great actor" chops people say he has. He always has this kind of spacey emo blankness about him, and he looks the same in Dune pics.

He's dating Eiza Gonzalez. He's clearly doing something right. Hats off to him.

LOL, that's pretty much the character's mood for the first bit of the story.

I saw a picture of Logan Lerman this weekend and thought to myself “Oh, so that’s what Chalamet would look like if he was hot.”

So I have no idea how he landed Eiza. Magic, maybe.

Y'all take these Chalamet opinions to AwardsWorthy if you want a fight for your lives. :funny:

It's almost as if her fondness for him extends beyond his skin deep looks and she actually appreciates him as a person whom she finds emotional compatibility with. Crazy! But think of it this way, at least that is one less person you have to compete with for Logan Lerman's attention.

Saw the "teaser for the trailer" (God how I hate that) in my Tenet IMAX screening tonight. Those images do look beautiful on the big screen. I'm especially hyped for the score now, too. I think Zimmer doing this and Göransson doing Tenet is gonna work out wonderfully for everybody, because that score was also A+.
