The images look great and my hype for this remains at peak level. I'm also glad I've managed to stop myself from reading the novel this far, and it won't be had to keep going now that the marketing has begun. Usually I've read the novels beforehand so it will also be interesting to see how it feels to read a novel for the first time after having seen the adaptation.

I watched Lynch's Dune shortly before the Villeneuve version came out and....I didn't hate it. Not that I would ever buy it but I'm really curious to see the mini documentary included on the special edition Blu-ray that came out a few years back that's specifically about how they marketed the movie back in the day, specifically the merchandise aimed at kids. They really tried to give it the Star Wars treatment.

I didnt hate Lynch’s Dune. I actually quite enjoy it.

But this version is in another league entirely imo. Part One isn’t just a great sci-fi flick to me - it’s become an all-time favorite movie for me, period. The whole vibe of it is just something truly special imo. These pics are killing me. I need this ASAP.

Well, put me in the camp that finds Lynch’s Dune unwatchable. I’m not sure if the Razzies were around back then but if so, I hope Machlachlan got one. But I am really looking forward to this movie, especially since the last one ended in such an awkward place that I need to be able to watch both films back to back so it feels like one big movie.
