This would be a great idea.

The Rock is just a great action star and this could really be the trick to making a lesser known property rule.

Especially if he's going to fit into the Avengers a big personality for a smaller character is a must.

Love it.

If this happens and they were to get like a Jusitn Lin to direct it this would easily be my most anticipated movie of whevenever

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would be a good choice for Luke Cage.

"The Rock says 'Sweet Christmas!'" ;-)

Seriously, until reading this quote about it from the man himself,I never really thought of him playing Cage.I wouldn't be surprised if he did end up with the role eventually. Maybe not the best choice but IMO not the worst.I think he could bring a certain charisma to make it his own.

i'd be too distracted by the pact it's the rock, i'd be waiting for a rock bottom constantly, people's elbow mo fos

I remember when Sam Jackson mentioned in an interview he'd love to be involved in the next Star Wars films.. word got out to G. Lucas.. and it ended up happening! Hopefully the Marvel studios execs are visionary enough to take advantage of the clear interest from various actors; and considering what has happened with Marvel in a few situations, I hope that the negotiations don't fall apart due to alleged "lowballing" on money..

some Marvel concepts unmentioned yet I'd like to see--
Code: Blue- the New York cops who are a SWAT team against super-villains. Lieutenant Marcus Stone is the leader; Rock played a cool, tough cop in Fast Five; if the Cage project didn't work out, I could see him in this role easily.. also Denzel Washington..

I could totally see the Rock (6'4", 270, good actor, great charisma) pulling off Luke Cage.

No thanks.
There's a lot of superheroes and supervillains I could smell The Rock playin', but Cage ain't one of 'em.

i wont him to play he-man i think he looks just like he-man.

I would'nt mind him as Cage but I thought Black Adam was perfect casting for him.

if i had to cast him as a marvel superhero i think he would make a better kallark/gladiator. just paint him purple and give him the mohawk.

What the hell kind of reason is this?

A nonsensical one.

I'm not interested in the Rock playing Cage, but it's because he pretty much sucks as an actor from what I've seen, not because he's light skinned. :whatever:

he has charisma and can carry a movie. luke cage doesn't exactly need a thespian, he's essentially the shaft of the MU.

Action movies in general really need personality over acting chops.

That's why Bruce Willis, Stallone, Arnold, and Rock can be action stars while not being the best actors on the planet.

Die Hard would have not been as good if Willem Dafoe would have been John McClaine.

I'd prefer that they continue to go with actual actors in the lead roles, not rappers or wrestlers.

We're hardly talking about Triple H, here. He's proven time and time again that he can act. Moreover, he hasn't been a wrestler for years, and by now has probably been an actor longer than he's been a wrestler, so he's clearly the exception.
