I really can't see him playing it. He's too much of a smiley, Disney channel actor. I think Idris Elba would be a great Cage. He looks like him, and has the toughness of him.

^ Check out Fast & Furious 5 if you still see him as just a smiley, Disney actor. Actually being a Disney actor is a plus because Luke Cage like most Marvel properties will be made by Disney.

But I agree Elba is a better choice decided by their acting abilities. I don't care much of his Heimdall role, that role have him covered by full size helmet and thick beard anyway.

Well that franchise in general is laughable in terms of plot and acting. They are just meant to be totally mindless fun. The Rock's performance in that latest F&F flick is not something that would make me think he would be a good Cage lol.

I have apsoultly nothing against The Rock, think he's a good actor. I just think he isn't dark enough, and hasn't got that "Luke Cage" character. I really love Cage, so I am going to be quite picky about who's going to play him.

hmm... I wonder.. if this were to be green-lit with Rock, would they do a thing like with Chris Evans in Captain America, where they used CGI effects to make him look scrawnier at first.. Cage wasn't a twig before his experiment, but he wasn't body-builder buff, either.. it could be interesting..

Yeah, I can't pull a picture in my head of the Rock stepping into the yellow shirt. I mean, I've had my share of doubts in the past about actors stepping up to play roles, and nearly all of them have proved to me that they can be great as those characters. Generally, the Rock is a swell actor, and he could very well be the man for the job. I just hope Marvel is wise enough to at least give some other guys the chance before risking one of Marvel's greatest C/D-listers.

In my opinion, this would be about marvels first real nasty mistake. They've had great casting so far, and have managed to snag actors who embody their characters, and still be choices nobody would have thought of. I just don't see them picking Dwayne based on that. Seems to me that several actors already expressing interest playing Luke Cage, but so far I haven't heard Marvel mentioning it as one of the movies they will be doing in the near future. We got more news about that Guardians of the Galaxy than Cage, or The Inhumans.

Me, too. Haven't heard *anything* more about The Inhumans since it was first announced many moons ago.

I think he really screwed himself by playing Heimdall in the MCU, when he could be playing bigger characters in that world.
