E3 2009

This doesn't confirm anything at E3, but it's possible it might be there:

Bethesda Softworks, the folks behind The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, is going to make a Wii game announcement this year — and a "really big Wii game" at that.

In an interview with industry site GamesIndustry, Bethesda Europe's Sean Brennan questioned whether there's a market for 18-year-old-and-up Wii titles. "Is there space in the Wii market for that? I think there is, but again, it' all about finding out how big that is," said Brennan. "Is it 5 percent? If it's five per cent of the market and you can own that space it's worth doing because you can achieve volume." For Bethesda, if you can't own that 5 percent, it's not worth doing.

That being stated, Bethesda is announcing a Wii game sometime this year. Like we previously mentioned, a really big Wii game. According to Brennan, "We are going to make an announcement on a really big Wii game this year, we've got a couple of other things in the pipeline, and it's a format we're really looking at with the right approach."

"We're not going to establish a new range and call if 'My Girly Game Range' or whatever these other companies are doing, it's so me-too and boring," Brennan added. A "My Girly Game Range" from Bethesda too boring? No, Sean, we think you mean, too awesome.

The Conduit is still more than a month away, but the dev team responsible for the anticipated Wii shooter has already moved on to other projects -- a glimpse of which we'll be getting at E3.

"I won't say much about our new property until we unveil it at E3," said High Voltage Software chief creative officer Eric Nofsinger. "But I can guarantee that we are continuing to push our technology to the absolute limit in order to deliver experiences that are beyond jaw-dropping."

The unannounced title will be debuted behind closed doors to "select media representatives." In the meantime, High Voltage will be showing off The Conduit ahead of its June 23 release.

Rumor, Devil May Cry 5 To Be Revealed At E3 2009

We all knew that with Details & Trailers of already announced titles such as Lost Planet 2, Dead Rising 2, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles etc, Capcom was also going to reveal 2 brand new titles at E3 2009 one of them was recently revealed Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.

According to our source the second title will be non other then the sequel to the popular gaming franchise Devil May Cry (Devil May Cry 5). and it will not only be appearing on PC, Playstation 3 & Xbox 360, it will also make it’s way onto Nintendo Wii.

Our source confirms us that unfortunately Capcom will only release a 1:32 min long teaser trailer, but on the positive side the teaser will confirm us the release date of the title.

Unless a franchise has the words "half" and "life" in its title, I can't seem to get excited for any news about sequels. Even Max Payne 3 has me feeling perplexed at what new lows they could possibly drag Max to after the horrors he dealt with in his first two games more than anything else, and I'm a big fan of Max Payne. I want to see some new IPs.

^Haha, no doubt! I'm getting really impatient waiting to hear news on Episode 3.

Yeah, seriously. Wasn't the shorter length of the episodes supposed to mean shorter dev times, too? I mean, Episodes 1 and 2 have been great (especially Ep. 2), but come on already. Throw us a bone, at least.

Definately. I think Valve has admitted on a few occasions that their episodic "experiment" hasn't turned out as well as they planned. I'm certainly not complaining, though. I love Episode 1 and 2, however I can't help but feel this time would have been better spent making a "real" Half-Life 3. As an example, since the time Half-Life 2 came out we have seen five full blown Call of Duty games as opposed to just the two bite-sized HL2 extensions. Someone could easlily pull out the quantity vs quality argument, but as much as I love Half-Life, I personally don't feel that the episodes are worth the time that Valve has put into them.

Pretty cool, I'm up for some more of that DMC goodness. I must admit that I'm more excited for Bayonetta though. Maybe because it's an original IP and has more of the core people from the original DMC behind it. I'm sure whatever they show at E3 will peak my interest, though. DMC Wii could be interesting, but if they utilize the WiiMote to it's fullest with that game it'll turn into a slahing fit.

is heading to E3 2009, yanking their action-oriented massively multiplayer game Global Agenda away from alpha testers long enough to give the convention going public a little taste. E3 2009 will mark the first major public showing of the game, which has until now been shown off at the odd public charity event or via press appointments. This means a much larger audience will be getting their first taste of the game's intriguing mix of team-based shooter, role-playing game, and territory control strategy. Hopefully they'll be better at it than I've historically been.
"Global Agenda is very different than the typical MMO", said Todd Harris, Executive Producer. "The intense mission combat and team-based tactics are best experienced rather than merely explained. We're excited to bring Global Agenda to the show for hands-on demonstrations, accompanied by one-on-one conversations with members of the game development team."
He makes a very good point. I've tried explaining it many times myself, with varying degrees of effectiveness. Visit the Global Agenda website to check out the latest videos and screens from the game, which should do a much better job.

First I've heard of this game

At the risk of sounding like a G4 promoter here...apparently G4 will also cover the EA and Ubisoft conferences as well as the MS, Nintendo and Sony conferences. They've promised over 30 live demos of upcoming games

Old Republic
Rock Band : The Beatles
Modern Warfare 2
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2

Halo 3: ODST

and all the other goodies they might announce! :wow: Can't wait.

I enjoyed their coverage of E3 last yr, ill tune in again this yr.

^Same here. Better get my DVR ready. :D

I wasn't aware that they were going to be showing Ubisoft and EA as well. According to IGN, we can expect to see at least some of these from EA:

Army of Two: The 40th Day
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Brütal Legend
Grand Slam Tennis
Madden NFL 10
Mass Effect 2
NCAA Football 10
Need for Speed Nitro
Need for Speed Shift
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10

IGN doesn't have a list for Ubisoft for some reason.

But I'm pretty excited to see if they have any surprises in store. I probably won't count on it though.

I pretty much hate G4 now, I've even got to the point to were I just watch X-Play reviews/previews online. However, I was so surprised last year by their coverage, easily the best coverage outside being there, imo.

Brütal Legend and Mass Effect 2. Oh yeah, looking forward to any info on that

Oh yeah, Mass Effect for sure. I was always under the assumption that Brutal Legend was going to yet another Devil May Cry/God of War/Heavenly Sword/Ninja Giaden/Bayonetta style hack 'n slash, except cartoony. But I've learned some more info about it and I'm really looking foward to it now.

I remember hearing about and thinking, 'Huh, that sounds interesting', then when I heard it had the same people that was behind Psychonauts I was pretty much sold.

Is it still on the Xbox Originals download list over the XBLA? It's greeeeaaaat stuff

I think so. And I've heard many many many many great things about it, but I just don't have the hard drive space for it. I'm trying to find it at GameStop, but no luck so far.

Yeah, you probably won't have much luck on that lol. That game sold so damn horribly there's so few copies left in brick and mortar stores

It looks like we might have a good show this year on our hands. I'm excited.

Psychonauts is definitely still on the Xbox Originals list. I'm gonna buy it one day, since I never actually finished it.

It's one I have been meaning to buy and play through...but everytime I open it up on XBL, and I see the 15 dollar price tag, I end up closing it again saying that I just can't justify me spending that much on it right now. :(

Yeah, that's an odd thing about video games. You see the AAA titles for $60 and you're like "whatever, I need that game!" but then you see tons of really interesting, unique lower-tier/arcade games and think $10 or $15 is highway robbery. I don't even know why I do it, since those lower-tier games are almost always worth it (Psychonauts certainly is), whereas plenty of those $60 AAA titles are really, really not.

I did the same thing with Braid, and I only picked it up when they had it on sale for 8 bucks...the original asking price was just too much. I'm glad I waited too, since even though I like the game, the regular price is just too much for what you get.
