Just a few shots of the game in a very early looking state. Its at least not a First Contact War game.

There was very little of substance for Mass Effect. We did see what looks like a day to night cycle for planets now...which is pretty cool.

And the way Hudson was talking, it sounded like this game is getting closer to being the Star Trek, exploring the galaxy adventure, that I think most of us Mass Effect fans seem to want.

did they show the 3rd Bioware game yet?

Hasn't it always been that? There is a central story, but from the first game you can do all that exploring, too. I thought it was very Star Trek-esque (despite being compared to Star Wars, which I think it has little relation to), since the beginning.

Surprised they didn't show games that they aren't ready to show?

The only interesting games are still years away. This press conference has been horrible. :csad:

The first game, kind of. The sequels? Nah.

Does anyone really care about Mirror's Edge? And again, another game not ready to be shown. What is the point? Do they really have nothing to actually show?

I thought they were.
The sequels became dominated by the narrative and action.

Ditto.

Aside from Dragon Age this has been pretty much "We are working on stuff!" the press conference.

For all of 2 minutes.
Exactly. Outside of the sports games and Dragon Age, they got nothing to actually shown. This kind of sucks. I am going to hang on until the end, just in case they have something up their sleeves.

I do. A lot, actually.

Meh, you could still explore planets and stuff. It wasn't as much as the first game, but still. Plus, you still had that mixing pot of different worlds and species that felt distinct.

oh.....did it look like SW?

fantasy?

futuristic?

modern?
You honestly couldn't tell any of that from what they showed. It could be anywhere, anytime. Though I am pretty sure it wasn't Star Wars. They emphasized it being completely "new".

The first one is the most Star Trek-y of the three, for sure. I think what I would hope to see, in being closer to that vision, would be maybe a bit more episodic approach to the storytelling through the exploration, I think.

There's a ME thread you know.

Yeah, there's also probably a thread for all of these games being talked. If you don't like discussing games as they come up at press conferences, you probably shouldn't be posting in here.
