The official event Web site today published conference listings for this year's revamped E3 in Santa Monica.

Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will all be holding press conferences at this year's E3 Media and Business Summit, which takes place in Los Angeles between July 11 and 13.

Microsoft will kick off proceedings on the evening of July 10, with an hour-long presentation starting at 8:30 p.m. No venue has been given for the console manufacturers' events, although all the other software publishers will be holding their events in the Fairmont Hotel.

The schedule so far, as listed on the event Web site, is as follows:

July 10 (Tuesday)

8:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Microsoft

July 11 (Wednesday)

9:00 - 10:00 a.m. - Nintendo
11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Sony
2:00 - 3:00 p.m. - Electronic Arts
3:15 - 4:15 p.m. - Activision
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Midway
5:45 - 6:45 p.m. - Konami

July 12 (Thursday)

8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Take-Two
9:15 - 10:15 a.m. - THQ
10:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Ubisoft
1:00 - 2:00 p.m. - Namco Bandai
3:30 - 4:30 p.m. - Disney Interactive

No conferences are so far listed as scheduled for Friday, July 13.

This year's E3 looks set to be massively different from E3 events in previous years--with a name change, a move from the downtown location of the Los Angeles Convention Center, drastic downsizing, and invitation-only sessions controlled directly by game companies.

I'm just hoping we get the same amount of info that we have in the past. I don't really care that its not open to the public, being that i never thought the public had any business being there.

So we get 4 Mega Man games, Harvey Birdman the video game, another Monster Rancher game (does anyone even play those?) apparently the video game port of Wikipedia to the Wii, featuring someone named "Zack", but no RE5. You're slackin' Capcom :cmad:

I thought they weren't calling it E3 anymore?

I thought E3 was canceled, that there would be no more.

It's been sorta canceled. The E3 that we know is no more because the game companies hated how much it cost to promote thier games in the show, thus they scaled it down completely. It'll be in a hotel room done in a more "professional" manner and only the game companies and their guests are invited with only a few press (like IGN, Gamespot).

It will eventually grow back into what it once was. Companies, wanting to show how huge their products will be, will begin renting multiple meeting rooms and eventually it will go back to the LACC.

Either that or their will just be more "developer's day" conferences for when major games are shown like a "capcom gamer's Day". Either that or Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony will just make their own conferences larger and seperate.

I used to like the old style E3 :(

Seriously. Last year was massive. It'll grow back, but theres so much going on in the next year or so. I can understand scaling it back, but the way its gonna be now is just lame.

No Resident Evil 5? Have Capcom even friggin started work on it??? :whatever:

its no biggie for me bc I still need to play through RE4

Next week can't come soon enough. Can't wait to see what all consoles put on offer.

That's stupid, it's like ComicCon down scaleing to only have press.

I think E3, as we knew it, will be back in a few year.

Microsoft lays out E3 promotion
Xbox 360 maker "Bringing It Home" once again with new demos, trailers, themes, video of press conference after the fact.
By Brendan Sinclair, GameSpot

Last year, Microsoft's "E3: Bringing It Home" promotion attracted gamers to the Xbox 360's online service with a free week of Xbox Live Gold, demos for Lost Planet, Test Drive Unlimited, and Moto GP, and a wealth of new trailers, gamer pictures, and themes. With the E3 Media & Business Summit set to tip off next week, Microsoft today announced that it will once again be "Bringing It Home" for the show.

From Tuesday, July 10 through Friday, July 13, Microsoft will provide Xbox Live users with video updates from the show, demos, trailers, gamer pictures, and themes from upcoming games. However, a Microsoft representative said the company had not made any announcements about free Xbox Live Gold for the week. The promotion is set to feature games such as Assassin's Creed, Guitar Hero III, BioShock, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2008, Blue Dragon, and Project Gotham Racing 4.

In addition to game-specific content, Microsoft will offer its E3 press conference in high definition--scheduled for that Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Pacific--later in the week. For more on that event (and the rest of E3) as it happens, check out GameSpot's full E3 coverage.
