I LOVE this guy. This shows how much a difference the person at the top makes. At launch this console just blew up for no reason on multiple fronts because the guys in charge had no idea what gamers wanted. Phil knows exactly what they want and has been steadying the ship for the last few years and is now beginning to come into his own.

Phil is way better then that Don Mattrick guy that nearly destroyed Xbox itself back in 2013 lol.

Someone said this is a new MS. Its no longer MS trying to play catch up with Sony but rather being on the offense and I love it. Sony has been way too complacent and just sitting around enjoying their success. I hope the positive buzz MS is getting lights a fire under them and forces them to start playing hard

Yes it does seem like that. I've definitely thought Sony were complacent in some areas but the fact they were working on the Neo at all surely shows they weren't just sitting pretty thinking it was all over.

indeed, the Slim feels like the console that the X1 should have been in terms of design and features.

Huge changes have happened to press conferences during the press conferences. They have plenty of time if they wanted to do that.

They said Windows 10 and Xbox games would be buy once play on all. I don't know what that will mean though exactly in terms of the games (ie what is actually downloaded) being identical and just running much better on the X1 and Windows 10 or if there will actually be anything else different.

that's unheard of and definitely uncharted territory for console gaming.

Nothing really jumped at me during the conference. The thing that got me the most excited was the customizeable controllers. Im not really a shooter guy so i guess it was not really for someone like me.

Its crossbuy. It shouldnt be any different than what we already see with Sony. Two versions are made, one for Xbox and one for PC. If you buy it through the MS store, its added to your account for download on either platform. If you buy retail version, you get a download voucher for PC. They did that with Alan Wake

My prediction? It wont be as solid as MS. Sony tends to have pacing issues and MS's was near perfect on this. I also cant imagine what big unknown announcements they could have.

I don't think they are asking gamers to buy both. I think they are giving options to people who haven't bought an X1 at all yet and giving current owners the option (but still no need) to buy a powerful upgrade. I don't think many who already own an X1 are going to be buying the slim this year and then the Scorpio next. The Slim will probably get a price cut to coincide with the Scorpio's launch to give people a choice between a low price or high performance.
