Eastbound & Down

What I found odd about the ending is that Kenny really learned nothing. He more or less wrote his family out of his screen play and created a new, grander family that worships him, almost as a god. Kenny gave up fame (again), but based on the screenplay...I don't think it will last. So that is the conclusion that we are left with? Season 3 and 4's events will just continue to repeat themselves.

What Happened in the Finale??? Can someone please tell me!!!!

Basically it was the same thing as last time, minus the staged death. Kenny decides his family is more important than his career, quits his career in a very public manner and returns to his family.

What I most took away from the finale is that it is just going to keep happening. There is no way the writers inadvertently wrote the finale to be the exact same thing as the season 3 finale. That's the point, I think. No matter how many times Kenny claims to have changed, he hasn't. His screen play epilogue, where he dreams of this huge, grandiose future for himself is evidence of that. April and the kids are not enough for him. He will repeat season 4 over and over again. That will be Kenny's life.

Matt I got took away the exact same thing from it and that's why I think it's brilliant. Such is Kenny's fate. He'll always feel torn between his family and this delusional, grandiose life that doesn't exist. He could easily do the show and take care of his family, be famous n everything an still be a good husband. He just doesn't have it in him. Sad really but actually very fitting for the show

I know his son was played by Eric from True Blood, but wasthat LindseyLohan ashis daughter?

Eric was in the credits but not lohan

Yeah, its actually a pretty tragic ending. It is hidden behind the guise of a happy one. But in reality Kenny's "screenplay," and the finale's striking similarity to the season 3 ending are signs that Kenny will never change and he is just doomed to repeating the series.

Even though it doesn't feel like he's been gone that long since I can see a little bit of that Kenny Powers DNA in McBride's characters in Vice Principals and Righteous Gemstones, I'm glad to see him back after almost 10 years.

Of all the things one wouldn’t expect to see news of….

I’m sorry but don’t y’all get your hopes up since said trailer is now confirmed fake unfortunately.

Wow, and that definitely looked like the official Twitter account of the show that posted it. It doesn't have the blue checkmark but that could have been because they never bothered to renew it since the show's been over for so long. That definitely fooled us all.

That sucks but, oh well. Righteous Gemstones is amazing and plenty of that Kenny Powers energy for me.

Man…. But oh well.
