Comedy HBO's Vice Principals

Goggins said we'd get some insight into why Russell is the way he is, so we might get a Russell-centric episode down the line this season.

Tonight's episode focused more on Russell's home life and dealing with his loud neighbor

Great episode I thought that had lots of funny moments like Gamby being told to stop disciplining and instead of a group therapy type session where students can talk about their feelings.

Funny how much Russell & Gamby hated each other when the show started but they grew to depend on one another and now consider themselves friends, lol

****ing solid season so far... i laugh constantly

It came sooner than I expected!

Another very, very solid episode today. Really getting into the insecurities of this show about insecure white man babies. Goggins was on fire with his delivery and wardrobe! "Busted by Lee Russell" had me in stitches. Micha and Deshawn and Ms.Swift are such fun little characters to use here and there too.

These last two weeks have been a bounce back from the meh to pretty good first three eps. Consistent laughs and insanity in these past two eps. Plus Dr.Brown just seems much more well rounded and funny too.

I freakin love Walton Goggins

his mother in law on the show is also hilarious

only 4 episodes left too... i believe both seasons are only 9 eps?

Loving this show.

Don't know why it's not getting more love

I've seen people criticizing it for being racist, which is weird because it seems quite obvious that this show is about entitled white man babies overreacting to someone more qualified and accomplished (who is an African-American woman no less) taking a job they believe is rightfully theirs. Not a show about two white guys trying to plot the downfall of a woman because of her race. These guys try to overcompensate for not having control in their personal lives etc.

I suppose because the show kinda teeters the line between making Gamby/Russell sympathetic and absolutely evil it's a bit confusing, but I don't think its message is unclear. It does get a bit inconsistent in its laughs and craziness though.

Walton Goggins is a genius.

That's so stupid. That's so damn stupid

Best episode of the season thus far, deftly balancing multiple tones, interplay between the characters that deepens our understanding of them and hilariously crude one-liners. The work that's gone into establishing all these characters has paid off so we can just jump in on a character and hit the ground running with jokes or development.

Only thing missing in this episode was Deshawn! We got Micha, we got Swift, we just needed Deshawn!

Shoutout to McBride's "I'm sorry you made me yell at you today" and Goggins' "I will dig up all your ****** kimchi!"

I laughed way too hard at the "get a life" line. Great delivery from McBride

who wants some of my special coffee??

That ending!

raw

According to IMDb, Goggins is in all 9 episodes of season 2... I don't know why, but I kind of thought they would replace him with another actor (not a recast mind you) for season 2.

They filmed both seasons back to back, so it seems like one 18 episode story that's just broken up into two seasons. Makes the commitment on someone like Goggins' much easier probably. He had a bunch of good visual gags today and I dug how McBride/Hill wanted to homage Breakfast Club with adults.

Another good episode today. A little light on the laughs but another episode that builds off the character development of the prior ones. It's surprising how easily Hill and McBride are hitting genuine emotional beats in a show filled with a sociopathic Walton Goggins and sudden occasions of extreme behavior from the characters. This show never truly lets you choose a side as everyone is equally flawed, but it'll be interesting which why Gamby falls once the ruse is up. Some people are saying this episode takes away a lot of momentum, but I thought it was a good breather in between 4 really good episodes that had their fair share of craziness.

Another really good episode today. The one-liners were on point, the insanity was there, and they fit in really good character beats again. The season finale next week will be intense for sure!

I definitely heard the voices. The latter half was great comedy, but the first bit of the show where the truth comes out to Belinda was just heart-wrenching. It was legitimately painful. Beneath the cringe comedy of this show was a story about genuinely broken people and life's small wins and losses, and with how we've come to learn about these three principal characters, the way it falls apart there at the beginning of the end was very painful.

Excited for season 2. This was a great season from McBride and Hill. Walton and Kim just do fantastic work and none better than tonight's finale.

the person who shot Gamby....

Walked like Russell :funny:

also it seems like Russell was recording their conversation at the flag pole so

F*** waiting for next season

But yeah it seems to me that Russell was recording it too.

I caught up with season 1 a couple weeks ago, good sh**.
