As for this game, I would sell my soul for a free-range Batman with a **** load of stuff to do and based solely on the comics with lots of extras.

Yeah EA may publish the games but they're not developing it. I would perfer Nolans vision made into a video game. A darker and gritty Batman game. Maybe have a light rated m batman game. Violent but not GTA violent.
 
There will never be an M rated Batman game. Ever.

I wouldn't want a Nolan-styled Batman game. It's good for a movie but for a game, I want to play in the comic world. So many more possibilities.
 
although this is probably the movie game, i hope it's based on the comics.

games based on movies visually look worse because they try to mimic the look of real people whereas it's easier to imitate a comic style.

damn, using the batmobile, etc. whenever you want and going anywhere...:wow:
 
This franchise has more videogame potential than almost anything I can think of... I really can't imagine it NOT falling short... it may be a good game too, but man... a game that gives me all the options that Batman has with NPC relationships just as compelling as the comics? Not likely...
 
this game own if it was in the same vein as crackdown. you can either take the batmobile for a spin or take to the roof tops on foot. and you gotta clean up gotham
 
Lego Batman will be the best Batman game ever though. Lego Star Wars was awesome.
 
I've pretty much given up hope for a good Batman game. :(

Eh, sorry, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be pure crap but it ended up being a decent 6 hour game. Wasted time, had a little fun.
 
I'd really love to see a GTA-style game where instead of playing as Bruce, you'd play as an up-and-coming street thug that (as in the other GTAs) goes around Gotham doing odd jobs for the crime families and Arkham nutsos. And yes, of course the highest wanted level would be the Bat.

Wow, that's actually a great idea.
It would have to be handled soooo carefully though.

In my mind it'd be based off of TAS, but I agree that the violent killing that's common in GTA may not mesh well with the kid-attracting Batman label.
 
This is one of those it is to good to be true things. I know it. This is just to awesome.
 
But if you beat Batman then he wouldn't ever come back. He could be like a boss fight, and the highest wanted level would be Nightwing, or Batwoman, or Catwoman, or Robin, hell, even the crazy green guy who only wears underwear for a costume. If they emulate AC, it will rock hardcore. They need to put an awesome developer behind it though.

I dont see that working at all. The sales would be dismal, the vast majority of ppl dont want to play a Batman game where you dont get to play as Batman at all. I mean thats certainly a unique idea but it would go over like a lead balloon.

That's the point, you couldn't beat Batman. Think about it, unless you're cheating, you don't really survive the highest wanted levels anyway.

I think it could, given the right advertising campaign. I'm sure there are enough people out there that would enjoy playing an up and coming criminal in Gotham City.

I went on many a rampage in GTA3 against the army and came out fine.

And it's a fun idea but it'd be an odd game, and would be nothing but a rip off of GTA where the army is replaced by Batman... Which ironically was a rumor when GTA3 came out, that the hidden highest wanted level, involved a Batman esque car that came after you.

It is good. They are making some "Saga" collection which is both games with more features. Wait for that.
